These servers are actually made to maintain themselfs.
Normally when people donate they get nothing i return.
On TF2 donating to certain servers gets you something.
For example:
1. You won't get auto-kicked for being AFK.
2. You can play any class, since servers have limits to some classes like engeneers.
3. My personal favorite, you can get a place reserved in the server, meaning no waiting to get in.
So the low cost of the servers+ tne get something when you donate feature makes it quite easy to mantain a server.

I've been playing this game for a couple of years now, and while it can get frustrating at times, the fun I have most of the time more than makes up for it. I have about 85% of the achievements so far, the ones requiring friends make up a good portion of the ones I haven't gotten yet. So if anyone wants to friend me and play some games with me my steam name is heavyd834.

I run both SWBF2 and TF2 in their highest settings and I find that TF2 runs better. You may have been running a background program, WD. My ingame name is SWINE-FLU, and I sent you a Steam friend request, WD.

I still want to switch it to 3rd person view. That first person blocks so much visibility, and I always got clobbered from the side when I played it.

Apparently you can type in "thirdperson" in the console and that works. But I don't actually know what that means.

I actually prefer first-person view in TF2 whereas in SWBF2 I find the third-person view more comfortable.
I wonder how a second-person view would be in a game...

O_o didn't know tnat, ill be doing it straight away.
The consol, well it's the same thing some battlefield games are ussing.

Well, I can see Swine, Yanoda and Nightrunner have requested me as a friend on Steam. However, I cannot access the 'Add a friend' section. From what I gather, I have limited access because I haven't 'purchased' a Steam Game yet. Does that sound about right?

Typing "thridperson" into the console is considered cheating, as the game is a first person shooter.

You have to buy a game on Steam to be given full access to the program. You could buy one of the £1 games, or go for one you really want. Steam offers many low prices.
