Alliance of Valiant Arms

A place to comment anything about other (not SWGO supported) games.

To be on topic, AVA is a pretty crappy game. It's another Combat Arms type deal. It's a 2006-esque game, but still lacks the polish that CoD4 had coming out of the gate.

Also, to be fair Fixer, buying that laptop for $800 was a bit of an oopsy.

[04:30] -SR-Mandalore: That sounds super fair
[04:30] -SR-Mandalore: Do you think other gay couples do that?
[04:30] (SWGO)SWINE*FLU: I reckon so.

Now THAT is the 'core' of what got everything heated up Fixer. Ya let Nargotah ([m'kay]) push your buttons. I'd say he got you hook, line and sinker.

Now, regarding the topic...I travel ALOT, so about a year ago, I was forced to buy a laptop. I did not have a bunch of spare cash, but for around $500-$600, I bought a Gateway NV53. It has AMD Turion II Ultra M600 Graphics, 15.6 16:9 LED LCD, 320 GB HDD (plenty), 4 GB Memory, etc.

It's a decent Gaming computer for what I needed (BF2)...certainly far from the best, but I knew exactly what I was getting. Now I never intended to use it for Halo, or other high graphic games, and I do bog down some on TF2 due to Steam. My biggest challenge is 'on the road' dealing with crappy hotel internet. Half the time I lag so much, I can't play. At home, I have Verizon FIOS Fiber Optic Cable service. That's top of the line web service. My Gateway Desktop downstairs is a bit faster (Girl gets on that one), but I've grown so accustomed to my laptop, that I play like crap on the desktop. Go figure. :-|

Yeah I got it from Steam under the free section.
It may have been a mistake but it was around 4 years ago I bought it and it was on sale for like 550$. Knowing what I do now and my access to the internet I would make a different computer decision.
