The Ship Multiplayer

Postby deadmeow » Sat Jun 28, 2014 4:13 pm

I just got this game the other day http://store.steampowered.com/sub/333/, the Ship Multiplayer version. I got it in a bundle with the single player version. The single player is boring, but the multi-player version is a lot of fun. The in game servers don't work, so you do netplay through Steam's servers now.

You basically are a passenger on a cruise ship assigned another passenger to assassinate, while you are assigned for someone else to assassinate. The person you are looking for doesn't know who you are, and you don't know who is looking for you, so it is very exciting. Steam were also giving away 2 extra gift copies with each purchase, not sure if they are doing it still. If you have a Steam account, I have one extra gift copy still if someone would like it, just ask. Very fun game!

So do you just go ahead and secretly kill all the passengers and crew, including the captain? That way you survive. Maybe should be called 'Blood Ship-Last Survivor'. What's the interaction like?

Basically it is like 10 rounds in a match. So each round you have a new person to target. If your hunter kills you, then you still come back the next round with a new target anyway. If you kill your target, they will be back the next round too. So I think the point system is positive points for killing your target, and negative points for killing non-targets, and negative points if ship police or witnesses see you pull a weapon out (and brig time).

So the people on the ship never run out as there are bots to fill it out as passengers only, sometimes targets, and even if you get killed, you come right back and you can still play (searching for weapons, and other things) while waiting for your new target in the next round.

Fun game to play, but difficult to master.

The one dollar deal for The Ship is back, with 2 gift copies to give to friends. Looks like the deal is good for another 3 and one half days.

Interesting concept but the graphics really suck for this day and age. It's like a twist on 'Hitman'.
