The jedi is ( I don't know the first 1), Jedi Outcast and Jedi Knight jedi academy.

they are two different games, by I would go for kotor personally. you could read some free game reviews at ign or gamespot, ultimately it's your decision. good luck.

I'd recommend KoTOR personally.

Both of them, they're awesome (I'm still waiting to borrow the 2nd from a friend but i've played it to death on the original Xbox)

I liked the Jedi series better. Found that KOTOR didn't keep my attention, so I didn't buy KOTOR2. I like to face an opponent and battle. I didn't like the way KOTOR opponents had "Hit Points" like Dungeons and Dragons. You had to keep chopping or shooting until they were dead. Not realistic to me. That is whay BFII is still such a great game to me. You have health, but the feel is so much more real-time and urgent. The Jedi games give me the same feel.

We should be talking about getting the X-wing series of games! Now that was my all time favorite.

Well the KOTOR series is a role playing game with puzzles to solve. When you go into combat with someone it's like rolling dice where you get see how much damage they take and how much you take. You have to stop and ask certain characters in the game questions in order to get answers to solve the puzzles/problems where as the Jedi Knight series is more first person shooter with some puzzle problems to overcome. Both these series are old, but the Jedi Knights series when I had them were alot of fun.

I don't know if they still offer the "Best of PC" package, but that came with both KOTOR and Jedi Outcast, which might help you get a feel for both series. Really, it comes down to whether you prefer RPGs or action/shooter games.

but since this is the original motive. I would hold out until battlefield 1943 and starcraft two come out. just a few more months...
