However, some recent details have surfaced that may point to Sony demonstrating a premium PSN service during E3. The service could possibly include the long awaited cross-game chatting, exclusive DLC, discounts in the PSN Store, a protection plan for the system and space in the rumored Cloud digital storage system. Pricing for the PSN+ service is speculated to be around $9.99/month. More to come as its made available.

Officially confirmed yesterday Sony has announced that it plans to make PlayStation Plus (a premium service for the PSN) available later this month. For $49 a year you'll have access to exclusive DLC, free full games, early access to demos and betas, and an auto-patch feature that will detect, download and install updates automatically.

The cross game chat feature is absent from the current list of features made available, along with the Cloud storage system. Hopefully they will be added to the PS+ service in the future.

You'll still be able to play online for free regardless if you have the PS+ service or not. You just get all that extra stuff for $50 a year.

Yeh I downloaded some of the free episodes they offered and wasn't really that impressed by Qore. It didn't provided anything different that isn't already on the net and for free. As for PSN+ I'm hoping Sony will bring cross game chatting into the mix, I did find out that PSN+ is launching June 29th. Now wouldn't be a bad time to subscribe even its just for three months($18). Sony is giving out three months free as a special promotional deal for the PSN+ launch. So if you get a year subscription you'll pay for 12 but get 15 months.
