Ran into Timothy McVader yesterday...

Postby Flyswamper » Tue Sep 06, 2011 6:06 pm

Played some Bad Company 2 for ~30 minutes or so last night and ran into a guy asking me if I was Flyswamper from "Star Wars Battlefront II" times....

Turns out it was the guy that went by "Timothy McVader", who happens to live here in Calgary also. I was flying a heli on Operation Hastings map (I was going like 16:0 kill/deaths ) so I didn't chat back to him much, but....thought it kinda funny running into him after all this time and on a different game.

I forget what his in-game name in BC2 is precisely, but it is something along the lines of noobanator or noobsrus..... something with noobs in it and about 10-12 characters long is all I'm sure of.

When I read the title of this thread, I expected Fly would end it with " I then put my vehicle in reverse and ran into him again!". :whistling:

Wasn't he kind of a [Richard]?

I remember his name was Timothy Mcsomething or other in real life, but took a lot of heat for the similarity to McVeigh. I spectated him and Kren a lot to learn Luke when I first started playing. And yeah, he could be a [Richard].

Yeah, Tim was somebody that always left an impression and was memorable to those of us playing in that time era (which is why I mentioned this). Personally, I always got along pretty well with the guy but I know some others didn't. Mostly I recall him having problems with the defacto ruling crowd at the time which included Leggz, Dread, Rancor, etc... And there was this little (insignificant by itself) incident involving Tim, me, and Leggz that ended up in Matt-C resigning that kinda keeps him fresh in my memory banks as well.... heh....

Anyway, just got a slight amusement at running into him in another game and thought I'd jar the memory banks of a few of the old timers....

Matts feelings aside, and I don't recall the exact circumstances there, if they all hated him he probably wasn't all that bad :innocent:

Man that was back in the day.

Back story is that Leggz was abusing his admin power, switched teams just so he could keep tk'ing McVader, then ran over and tk'd Flyswamper for no reason.
When Dread and crew took Leggz side I kind of said get rid of the guy or I quit, they kept him so I did.

I actually got along with McVader fine and even friended him on myspace (yes myspace). He did have a defensive pride about him, never backing down, but if my name were Timothy McVeigh I'd probably have a small chip on my shoulder too. All in all a really good guy and fun to play against.

Thanks for posting Flyswamper, and if you run into him again tell him I said hello and come play some SWBF2.
