Post edited, I shouldn't post right after I wake up :innocent:

I don't really care if you smoke or not, just as long as you don't do it near non-smokers. My main reason for posting is because Wulf decided to call smokers, idiots. I don't think it's fair to say that. Everyone has their reasons to smoke, and people deal with certain situations differently. Perhaps some are going through a bad marriage, or money problems, that's why they smoke. They need to keep themselves on the edge rather than off, to call them an idiot for doing that is selfish thinking. Know their reasons, see it from their point of view, have some understanding, then you can make a post that doesn't make you sound like some guy forcefully shoving your [Richard] down someone's throat.

You know....the point here is that there is no need to call someone an "idiot" because he/she does something that you don't agree with. I would never tell someone that drinks beer "he's an idiot" because I don't drink. Do you think that insults makes your point? No...it shows that you're one of those people that is "my way or no way". I smoke outside my house....I don't include my kids or anyone around me to my vices. I'm respectful enough to do it away from non-smokers. I guess it would be silly to give me the same respect I give to those that don't smoke. That's the idiot in me I guess.

I'm very sorry to hear about your kids grandparents Nite, but at the same time you can't expect your experiences as a result of smoking will repeat in the exact same manner. I had a friend that his grandmother..which started smoking at the age of 11(that's what she told me), was still smoking at the age of 88...and was still very active. You wouldn't even of thought that she was a smoker by the way she carried herself...full of life an vigor. My point here is...no one goes through the same experiences, our biological bodies react differently to the same stimuli from person to person. One's body can be more resilient then the next. While I'm not saying that I am Superman...I don't believe that my fate has been written.

Personally, I don't care if you choose to smoke (in fact, getting those extra tax dollars from you is nice ). You know the consequences (those which are are fairly certain to get, and those which may get), and it's your body. I'm glad you don't smoke around non-smokers, because I absolutely hate the people that do. I walk on a "non-smoking" campus during the school year and still have to walk by 1 or 2 smokers everyday (and it's disgusting to me).

The only reason I take this stance, is so I can eat my fattening food without people trying to take it away from me.

First point: EAW is a better troll than most of you give him credit for.

Second point: I don't smoke for my own reasons, but this is clearly an area where people have the freedom to do what they want with their money, time, and bodies. Just because someone makes choices you don't approve of doesn't give you free reign to insult their intelligence or motivations. If you don't want to smoke, keep it to yourself and stay away from smokers. If you have a friend or family member who you genuinely care about, go talk to them with love. However I find it hard to believe that wolfi has any motivation to reprimand pan other than that it makes him feel (and to himself) feel superior to non-smokers. We're such a nation of meddlers. Jeez...
All Warfare is based on deception.
Anger his general and confuse him.
Offer the enemy bait to lure him; feign disorder and strike him.
Know the enemy and know yourself; and in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.

Thank you Rich...sensibility is always a wonderful trait to have. I also think that as Americans, we all feel we are entitled to our opinions and that's fine and dandy...but opinions are meant to be constructive...not destructive.
