Come on Jamwin, Republicans use polls for their advantage all the time. Especially in the last 18 months, like every health care poll that came out...

I think they can be useful, and except for some odd cases are usually correct in predicting election results, etc.

As always, time will tell, but I think there will be major backlash against Republicans. Some pretty smart people have shown that had Democrats held the senior citizen vote in the last elections, the results would have changed in many districts. Obama lost seniors for passing some minor medicare reform savings in the health care bill - Republicans are for privatizing the whole thing. Kudos to Repubs if they push ahead on that because it's what they believe, their own strategists are warning them what the consequences might be...

Matt, I sort of said that in my previous post about Fox News. I don't trust polls personally for reasons I stated before. They can't be trusted because you never know where the companies providing their polls are getting their samples. Let's be honest, Foxnews is probably polling from a base that they now will give them the results they want and vice versa. Polls are nothing more then a propaganda tool used by both sides to prove only what they want to prove.

Sorry if you consider this belaboring the point - but they aren't just for propaganda, they're how the campaign teams of nearly every politician decide messaging, where to focus resources, etc. They have it down to a science because people are paid well to do it - and to be accurate.

The other side is push polls, where the poll results are just for propaganda and often the poll itself is the propaganda.

Not saying I like any of this, I consider most of it electioneering, but polls can and are useful if done right - which many are.

Regarding Medicare...Voters live longer. Many don't want it cut. Nor do I.

Regarding Tax hikes on the over 250 earners...MATT! YOU KNOW that the wealthy pay 70% of the overall taxes already. Don't hide this crap in a stupid poll!

I hate polls. Dammit, just do whats right. Donald Trump said today that he'd force China to pay a 25% tariff on all imports from their country. $$$$$$$$$$$$ for the U.S. The Chinese will crap their pants and come running to square a deal. They are hosing us bad now because we act like a bunch of castrated wussies. (Thanks Obama and W. Bush) They don't pay hardly anything on imports here. They stole American Jobs, make our products for US to BUY!...Good GOD, so how (pray tell) can we compete unless we play hardball like Trump suggests? How can we survive unless we roll up our sleaves, quit kissing everyones azz like Obama does, and just fight for our economic right to survive??? Vote Trump! (Subliminal message)
He may not have a political background, but dammit, he can un-screw us economically. Foreign policy is all about money these days. We need to cut from the Muslim Countrys and worry about ourselves here in the U.S. for awhile. Trump's got the proven edge. And he'll put the 'screws' to thos A-Holes in OPEC who keep jacking our gas prices! He da man! You just watch and learn. :punk:

Matt, I am personally enjoying this discussion so I don't think you're belaboring the point so with that said. I agree with everything you said except with your underline point. I personally don't believe most if any are useful. So anyway, I think we can move on from this topic. :)
