Well hey, it's pretty clear I was referring to pi with that statement, but considering that you think i'm acting like a sensitive pussy your reading comprehension is buried deep in the [poo]. I have refuted that point. You need to learn how to speak with some dignity.

Narg, I suppose calling you, Homestar and any others sensitive pussies may have been harsh. I apologize. But remember, your noting this forum is populated by children and being offended by my or anyone's rough statements is a bit hypocritical considering the content of 99% of your posts on the Forum. I'm not 'defending' Pi at all, but am defending the core issue that Muslims (certainly not the 'Westernized' ones) have violent anti-western/American behavior. Hey, it's seen on TV all the time. As far as the name 'Raghead' goes, that's a term we used in the Military as far back as the 1980s. How old we're you then?? Fan belts was used too. Sorry, it's not going to go away.
Bottom line, it's not 'racism'. It's an Ethnic difference. I don't hate Islam. I simply hate those who would use it as an excuse for violence...or anyone else who'd use religion or a religious belief as an excuse to murder.

Believe me, I get that my posts are inappropriate as all hell. But the thing is, I don't really present myself as someone to be looked up to. Hell, look at all the people that i've screwed with in the past - they all say "man look at you you're just some dickhead who yells at people on a forum", not "man I thought you were cool and had real authority in the forum". And as i've said before, I have no issue with you saying [poo] like that because you're actually in the thick of it. Pi, on the other hand, is some like middle school kid with an ego trip, and hasn't done anything close to earning the right to say that. The reason i'm not tearing into you is because I know you aren't saying "[m'kay] them all let god sort them out", and i'm tearing into Pi because i'm not so sure he isn't. That's all.

Also i'm not a lady >:I

This began with me pointing out Pootus' use of derogatory language in reference to people of Middle Eastern descent. This is by definition racist language. At no point did I call out anyone else, until Pi started being more blatantly racist in an attempt to defend him. I'm considering changing that stance for WD - I don't care how the military used it in the 80's, it's racist language and use of it leads to stereotyping and racist thought patterns.

Since Pi wanted me to point out my actual argument:

Pi's first post was re-edited nearly a day after posting, in what I can only assume was an attempt to make it look like we are the ones overreacting. This in itself is majorly problematic. I don't remember the original well enough to point out most of the changes, but I can say that he didn't include "Western" before "civilized society". The original, along with pretty much everything he's posted since, essentially implied that Muslims were savages.

3.14pi wrote:People like you only put the civilized world at greater risk. We need to stop focusing on equality and trying to pretend that things aren't as they seem: they are.

For example, you didn't manage to edit out the "civilized world" bit here. It's as problematic here as it was above. Also, your version of "as they seem" is utterly delusional.
3.14pi wrote:you don't get to choose your religion, so it's illogical to discriminate against someone who hasn't done anything based on it

A religion is a set of beliefs. You are not born with it, and you are free to choose it. However, you have a point. It doesn't make sense to discriminate against someone who hasn't done anything. This is why we were objecting to, say, you arguing that we should discriminate against Muslims in order to improve security:
3.14pi wrote:But I ask you: what is worse—for people to be stigmatized because of their religion, or for Americans and other innocent people to die because we are afraid of offending people?

Pi, go through your arguments, and replace radical imams with the Westboro Baptist Church, and terrorists with abortion clinic bombers. Maybe that will point out your innate hypocrisy and failure to understand that crazies are not representative of an entire people.

I will confess that my last point (that you quoted) was kinda irrelevant to the matter the hand. And my edits were to things at the bottom, as indicated. I don't believe I added the word western. If you want to assume I did, then fine: I will take responsibility for calling the Arab world uncivilized. Before calling me a racist again, continue reading.

Civilized world = western world from our points of view, yes. In our opinions, the dictatorships and brutality that are commonplace throughout the Arab world are not features of a civilized society. Islamic society has barely changed since the Middle Ages—that is, its fundamental structure. The Islamic world has moved into the technological world of the 21st century, but structurally remains largely the same: brutal dictatorships, no separation of church and state, no civil liberties.

And I didn't say that we SHOULD discriminate against Muslims, simply that it might be necessary to do so in order to improve security. Is it wrong to perhaps screen Muslims more closely at airports than other people? Without a doubt. Will it improve security? Without a doubt. Which is more important? It is impossible to agree on, but I think the latter.

Truthfully, if I belonged to a group of people from which there were extremists carrying out terrorist attacks—I would not complain if I were scrutinized because of it. Instead of blaming the US, I would blame my own people for using religion to justify violence.

You are right: crazies are not representative of an entire people. But you cannot deny: the Arab world, aside from extremists, doesn't exactly like the United States or the non-Arab world.

Look up videos of ordinary Muslims celebrating 9/11 and other terrorist activities. They are not extremists: but they certainly aren't our friends.

I do apologize if some of the things I said were taken out of context, but it is really incumbent upon you to think before you accuse someone of being the next Hitler (not you Crater).

I would bet that the 'Military' doesn't reallycare what 'you' think either, as they still use it to this day. Maybe you can protest and suggest using a less offensive (yet descriptively correct) term like 'Turbanhead' ?? Good luck with that. 'Stereotyping'...I'll give you that one.

'Muslims' are NOT a 'race'. They are an 'Ethnic group'. (i.e. People living in Morocco bear little resemblance to those living in Egypt, who also bear little resemblance to those living in Saudi Arabia. The Syrians and Iraqi also look quite different from the Saudi, as they inherited more of the original Assyrian and Babylonian blood).

Conclusion, there is an 'Arab race', but it is mostly limited to the Arabic peninsula, with just traces of blood found throughout the Arabic-speaking world.

I totally agree with WD on the fact that the military can call them whatever they want to since they're the ones over there being shot by the very people they are trying to train and have actually lived through all of this.

People really need to get over what other people call them and realize it doesn't matter one [m'kaying] bit. I don't know if it does to you but this "he said that" and "he called me this" [poo] seems really immature to me.
Grow a pair and get over it.

If you can't get past this name calling [poo] how the [m'kay] are we suppose to solve real things that actually matter?
