Thing is, Otto, he's not an idiot. He's insane. I'm not even joking.

The US feeds their country. Lemme tell you how'd war with them would go.

They launch a missile, or attach SK. We will probably intercept the missile in time.

US destroys their Air Force in 24 hours maximum.

Artillery battle that goes on for 3 days, maximum.

Ground war ends in 3 months, no longer. Their army would run out of food.

And he knows this, and he's still willing to go to war. He's insane.

yeah, I used the wrong words. He's a maniac already, but I don't think it would end so quickly. How long did the korean war last? almost 3 years or something?

EDIT: I mean, it could end quickly, but what if china gets in.. see what I mean?

The original Korean War lasted 3 years thanks to China, yes. It would have been over before the first year was out otherwise.

Except that this is 2013, not 1950. I really, really don't see China going to war with us again. Not with how their economy works. They cared during the Cold War about not having us at their border, but it's a new political climate.

Yeah, he knows that war will utterly ruin the country, Wulf. But he (and/or whoever's actually in power) is not insane. They don't want a war. They just want to improve their position and have some sanctions removed. Now, attempting to get what they wanted required them to appear ready for war. But as you can see, they haven't actually gone through with it.

China is just waiting for North Korea to make the first move so they can safely throw away their mutual defense pact.
