Oh good God!! Bush didn't steal a damn thing! The votes were cast by the people. And Bush had less 'influence' on its outcome as an ex-Governor than Gore, who was the sitting VP. The Supreme Court (if you want to point fingers) ultimately had more say than anyone. And they should not have to have been involved, but they were sick and tired of the stupidity of it all, and Gore not 'manning up' and accepting the fact he lost the crucial state by less than 600 votes...count after re-count, after re-count. He wanted them re-counting the same damn ballots until he won! That's just [m'kay] stupid!

I agree with 3.14, Nader did 'a Perot' in a small Florida county. Too bad, so sad...That's democracy. Unfortunately, we don't go by 'popular' vote, and still use that damn antiquated 'Electoral' vote. Nader's was on a much smaller scale than Perot, but it was the same ultimate outcome. He changed the election. God dammit, I'm sick of people saying Bush 'stole' the election. Blame Nader..blame the chad counters, blame the retards that didn't know how to vote in that Florida county, blame the supreme court, but Bush (43) did NOT steal a damn thing! He waited for the final determination like a professional...

Now Obama on the other hand is trying to keep the military overseas from voting by holding back absentee ballots or indirectly influencing it!...Now THAT is 'stealing' an election. He knows many in the Military overseas and here at home cannot stand him. And he also knows their votes could screw him. We'll see what we'll see.

Supreme Court Justices who Voted in Favor of Gore:
Rehnquist - Appointed by Nixon
O'Connor - Appointed by Reagan
Scalia - Appointed by Reagan
Kennedy - Appointed by Reagan
Thomas - Appointed by George H.W. Bush

No wonder why he won the Supreme Court Case. If that doesn't mean anything to you, then how about this.

Woman in Charge of Florida Recount:
Katherine Harris

Chairman of Bush's Florida Campaign:
Katherine Harris

Governor of Florida During 2000 Election:
Jeb Bush...yea, as in George Bush's brother.

Who commissioned a private company to go through Florida's registered voters and hand-pick which would be known as "felons" (93% of which vote Democrat), so they could revoke their constitutional right to vote? Katherine Harris. Who's Katherine Harris's boss? Jeb Bush. And hm...who did Jeb want to win? That doesn't even need to be answered. The fact of the matter is that thousands of Democrat voters got their voting rights stolen due to outright mismanagement by a company hired by Katherine Harris, a Republican and leader of the George Bush campaign, and when the recount was enabled, it was Katherine Harris who oversaw the project.

Yea, Bush didn't steal the election...my bad. It was his brother and his friend.

Whether or not there were Republicans in-charge, after 3 re-counts, GORE STILL LOST! Whether by 600 votes or 6 he still lost! It's the law! Would it have made you feel a little better if a bunch of Democrats were in charge and recounted the chad laden ballots until they fell apart and Gore won because they couldn't read the damn things anymore. Come on Samonuh....You are nit-picking what the Dems would have done if the shoe was on the other foot. But everyone in the world, except the Democrats, could see it was a petty waste of time. The Country needed a leader, and it was determined Bush won.

Now, as a side note. During a tour of the 'Jefferson' Memorial, they taped a video of Clinton and Gore (newly elected) touring it. I saw it. Gore, in his infinite wisdom looks at the big statue in the 'center' of the Memorial, and asks: "Who is that?" Clinton, upon hearing the question, wisely slinks off in another direction. Of course, the tour guide told him it was Jefferson. A lot of marbles in Gore's brain weren't working that day, but maybe that was his 'norm'. Kinda reminds me of Biden. So maybe there was a divine reason he wasn't elected.

Now, I'n not saying Gore wouldn't have made a better President than Bush...idk. But the Law is the Law. Gore made some mis-steps during his campaign that cost him the election..i.e. using his daughters advice during a debate and standing directly in front of Bush while Bush was responding to a question. Dumb move, and there was huge out lash over it, no doubt costing him a huge amount of votes. Totally pointless move, but destructive none the less. He did invent the internet you know, so he has that going for him.

I respect your opinion, but strongly disagree; and I don't like the Democrats, but I still think that Gore lost.

The reason they stopped the recount was BECAUSE they knew that Bush would lose; they didn't recount Broward, Palm Beach, and Miami, which is where the majority of Gore's votes would come from. Think about it: South Florida has many Jews and Hispanics, all of whom are going to lean Democrat.

Again, I don't like the Democrats, but I realize that Gore really was the victor.

You're entitled to see it your way though, and I sorta see your point of view, but not completely.

best,

Would you bet your 'very life' on that statement? I wouldn't. And I don't have the patience to research the accuraccy of your statement regarding the demographics of those counties. So lets stick to reality versus personal and unpredictable 'feelings' of individual Jews, blacks, Hispanics and old farts. The counties chose their voting methods. They, by law, must live with it. Just because we don't like the outcome, we cannot continually say the system is broken, and find, for whatever reason, a way to change the results. What would be the point in voting? We may as well digress to a 3rd world Kenyan-Type Country and let the strongest Militia faction who murders the most people declare himself Supreme Commander and rule our land. Unless there is obvious voter fraud, we must accept the results. Broken machines or broken voters are not an excuse.

You're actually thinking of African nations like Rwanda and Uganda. That's a pretty weak jab at Obama's ancestry/alledged birthplace supposedly having an influence in his policies. :-|

He said nothing of the sort; dont accuse WD of being a racist. Actually, not necessarily a racist, but disliking him for his ethnicity.

See, this is what I cant stand about people: they think that if you strongly dislike Obama, then you're a racist. Well, my friend, that is not true: there are genuine, political, reasons to dislike Obama.

I don't agree with everything WD is saying etiher: but I'm not accusing him of being a racist for it; neither should you.

All I can say is let's agree to disagree. I don't see any side persuading the other in this argument. Bush vs. Gore will always remain a blurry piece of American history.

I'm not accusing him of any of those things you are accusing me of accusing him of. He wrote "Kenyan-Type Country." Of all the corrupt African nations that have been in the news for the last 40 years due to civil war and tribal-like mentality warfare, he uses Kenya, a country that does not at all fall into this category, as his example. I was implying that since he already doesn't like Obama, that was the reason why he incorrectly used Kenya as his example. :S

You accused WD of referencing Obama's alleged ancestry by talking about African countries; that's just plain ridiculous.
