The argument against the Banner in Cranston West High School, is based on the premise that the school is a government funded school (aka public school). Their reason is that a public school should be religiously neutral, not favoring one religion over the other. Sure the ACLU may have gone a little overboard, they could of just asked to make the Banner more religiously neutral instead of just removing it.
If the School should have the (religious) message of the Banner protected, then Muslims should also be able to build their Mosques to freely practice their religion.
Choosing one over the other just seems hypocritical IMHO.

I give a rats ass where they build a mosque... or a church or temple or satanic altar. My 2 cents on that is building a mosque at ground zero is asking for trouble, but I wouldnt protest it.
My point on the banner in the high school is that it has been there for over 50 years not hurting anyone. Hell, maybe it even inspired a student or two (though probably not). How is it that the words "our father" and "amen" can be construed as offensive? Its not; thats how. Its one person, whose existence in the building is limited to four years, using the goddamn aclu to waste taxpayer money. If a person doesnt believe in something, how can they be offended by it?
Im far from religious- probably more aethestic than anything myself. I do, however, believe in "live and let live".
