You know how delicious is to smoke cigarett. I have never try to smoke cigar.

You must be smoking something more then cigarettes.

Thinking you'll hide it from you family is just plain stupid. All the febreeze and mouth wash won't clean the smell off of you.

Delicious? Yeah right that's the addiction talking. If it's true that people only smoke because it's delicious, someone should invent a nicotine flavored jelly bean or something. They could have a whole line of new flavors. Smoke, ash, tar. I predict best selling candy of all time.

Still feel the same, or are all you who berate smokers in peak physical health too?

Having been a fat person (and still trying to drop another like 60 pounds, [m'kay] i'm still pretty fat), I honestly think that portraying fatness as an objectively bad thing would be a pretty decent way to get people to shape up, so to speak. Ever since I started showing signs of becoming a tub of lard, people told me "oh that's okay everyone's different and it doesn't matter if you're fat!". Well that's a complete load of [poo]. Being fat is a bad thing. It costs a ton of [m'kay] money, if you go too far you're just going to be seen as a completely disgusting slob, and no matter how sparkly your personality is you will hardly ever be attractive to the opposite sex. If i'd just had someone tell me this before I put the pieces together myself, I probably would have had a much easier childhood. Instead, I was told that all the people who made fun of me for being fat were bullies. So of course, when people started pointing it out as a legitimate health issue, my response was to block them out because "THEY DON'T ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM GOD DAMN".

I'm sick of this "accept everyone" attitude that seems to pervade every aspect of the American consciousness. No, fatness should not be encouraged, obliquely or blatantly, at any point. Thanks to that mentality, i've spent nearly my entire life as a mouth breathing sack of diabetes, and have only within the past four years been able to pull myself (sort of) out of the hole. Unfortunately, the fact that you considered "well I hate fat people" as a strawman argument only further illustrates my point. It's considered completely unacceptable to make fun of fat people. In my opinion, it's a hell of a lot better to make them get [m'kay] skinny instead of tippy-toeing around the whole issue.

Basically what i'm trying to say is, if you're a kid and you're fat, that is not okay. I don't give a [m'kay] what your parents say, what your counselor says, or what excuse you have. Unless you've got some kind of disease where you straight up can't do anything, you should not be fat. It isn't meant to be the natural state, and the fact that it's being considered as such is something that I find truly reprehensible.

That's about all I have to say about that. And no, I didn't read any of the posts past this because god damn it I haven't had a decent reason to get all pissy in a long time and i'm savoring this. And no haas, i'm not yelling at you, just making a point.

[m'kay], we do agree on something. Go Narg!!

I was engaged to a guy that was in the 360+ range. He had a family history of diabetes and his dad already had that and one heart attack. He was ADDICTED to fast food. I told him that if he wanted to quit eating out like that I would cook every meal and manage his diet for him, that way he could still rely on convenience. Nothing worked. With my family history of diabetes I knew what it entailed should he develop diabetes, and what it meant to be a wife to a diabetic (my grandfather was a diabetic and my grandma was the kind and compassion wife who ate whatever he ate.) He refused to think that poor health could happen to him, he thought he was immune to everything. Well, now he is a diabetic.

Let me start off by saying, that I agree 100% with whats been said about people and over eating and weight gain. But I feel it must be pointed out, that "being fat" can also be caused by sources other then food. I know from personal experience that weight gain can also be caused by diseases or treatments for diseases.

I am not in any way implying that most cases of obesity are non food related. If I was I would sound as silly as someone who says lung cancer cases come mostly from cars, computers and water. But It does need mentioning.

Coming back around to the main topic about smoking, the major difference between smoking and over-eating is the collateral damage. I'm not talking about health-care costs, or increased taxes. I'm talking about physical harm. Cigarette smoke directly affects not only the smoker, but anyone who inhales the smoke that gets blown into the air. It has been tested, proved, and documented that second hand smoke kills.

Creating, producing. marketing, and distributing, an item that indiscriminately kills (even when used properly for it's intended purpose) would be a criminal offense for any other product.

I think eating a Taco Bell is very harmful to your health...but it's soooooooooo delicious! I've been eating there since I was 15. I never ate at Taco Casita, so I think I'll just keep eating at Taco Bell. I just love the taste.

Ok so now that we established that everyone is dying from somthing maybe we'll just plop ourselves down and play some Battlefront. :punk:

@ Hassdog: If you thought I was attacking you personally, I'm sorry, it was not my intention. From the last few post earlier it looks like others thought it was going that direction so I didn't mean to come off so strong.
