Chicago is getting hit pretty hard, 3-4" per hour right now and it's not going to let up until after 5am.

I've lost TV/Phone/Internet but still have power. Currently tethering some 3G internet from my phone.

here near Cleveland, Ohio there's about an inch coating of ice on everything. Now it's more like wet snow than freezing rain, and as the night goes on it's supposed to turn into real snow. For the last few hours though, the roads have been really ugly.

a SUV right in front of me on the way home from the ski hill a couple of hours ago slid straight off the road... yes I stopped to help but there really wasn't much I could do. Turned out he could walk home, and the tow truck wasn't gonna be there for like four hours... :\

that's the state of things hereabouts.

Just a little rain here in Virginia…thankfully. We'll see what the future holds. Gotta fly out into the crud out west tomorrow.

Officially we got 17" where I'm at, with another 5" expected today.
The drifts everywhere range from three feet to five feet.

Edit for our metric friends: 43cm so far, another 13cm coming with snow drifts all over up to 1.5m deep.

Time to get out the shovel and snow thrower and see what I can do.

This weather is all goofy screwy. Stay warm Matt. I'm 45 minutes south of Galveston on the Gulf Coast, and we're supposed to have 1-2 inches of snow Friday here. I have something like $1000 worth of citrus trees planted around my yard. They don't like 25 degrees any more than I do. Its killing me.

Isn't climate change wonderful?
