The Phantom Menace 3D Official Release Date

Lucasfilm Ltd. and Twentieth Century Fox announced that the 3D theatrical launch of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace now has an official release date -- February 10, 2012! Set against the thrilling and exotic backdrop of a "galaxy far, far away," Star Wars is perfectly suited to the immersive 3D theatrical experience, and Episode I delivers some of the Saga's most stunning and spectacular sequences -- from the Naboo invasion to the Tatooine Podraces to the climactic lightsaber battle between Darth Maul and the Jedi.

Supervised by Industrial Light & Magic, the meticulous conversion is being done with utmost respect for the source material, and with a keen eye for both technological considerations and artistic intentions.

Time to make plans for those midnight releases! Star Wars is back on the big screen and in a big way! I can't wait!

hopefully they will.
But the fact that lucas thinks the world end in 2012 will probably slow things down a little (not to mencion hes old and might die before completing other movies)

I keep hoping he finds someone to continue his work and even making the 7th 8th and 9nt movie but its not likely.

They are releasing a movie once a year in order. I hate that I have to wait that long for "The Real Star Wars!"

3D. You know guyz what, the real 3D you can see in IMAX, in cinemas which were built on puropse to show ppl movies in 3D. There the screen is so huge you are not able to see entirety of it and owing to it gives producents a chance to create movies in 3D which are short but breathtaking with dinosaurs getting out of a screen and eating your balls. And those are movies made only for 3D.
The ones you watch in normal cinemas are made for 2D and then converted/passed to 3D which quality is so poor that eyes, literally and not only, hurt. Avatar, a great movie? lol, I've seen it it 3D but I have had seen in IMAX a real 3D and it's impossible to compare Avatar to it. Cutting it short, nowadays there is a fashion on exploiting something which is a falsie of real 3D and the effects are terribly pathetic. I love SW but I'm not sure I would spend my money on watching it because Lucasfilm is going to steal my money by showing me a film in 3D which(3D) is only in a title.

I'm gonna see it just to say I've seen Star Wars on the big screen. The effects and 3D mean nothing to me.

Yeah. If people are not into the 3D, at least they can get to see the movie on the big screen and stand in line for hours to get into the first midnight show. Those are always the best.

...or maybe I will watch this.. not for 3D just so see this movie one more time but first ona big screen. Who doesn't love star wars....
Btw, can you imagine, my gf hasn't seen SW!!!! It's why I urged her to watch a New Hope but she'll finish the whole saga at home xD no mercy!
