Hey everyone, I was wondering if I could bother you for some opinions...not matter what they may be.

What is everyone's opinion on the legalization of marijuana for medicinal and/or recreational use in the U.S. And why.

This should be interesting...

'Recreational'?...I think it would be just Wonderful if the people who worked on the jet aircraft that I fly, were high on doobies all the time! God only knows what surprises I'd have waiting for me and the passengers during each flight. It also might make crashing your car into telephone poles and other people's cars alot less painful... at least initially.

Smartphones, reality TV and the internet cloud our minds just as much if not more than pot.

Marijuana is less harmful than Alcohol and Nicotine. Logically, if those two are legal, then marijuana should be legal. History has shown prohibition of a widely popular product causes more harm than good.

Its like anything else that would be considered mind altering; a little common sense and moderation and everything's fine.
I wouldn't want my pilot to be high any more than I would want him drunk or on pain or psych meds... I wouldn't much care if he did any of this stuff while he wasnt transporting me. I do know that his hands would still be steady and his mind clear if he hadnt smoked pot in a day or 2. Can we say the same for the legal substances?

Well hopefully they would treat it like alcoholic beverages.
1. Put taxes on it to help offset some of the national deficit.
2. Make it so that only those over the age of 21 can use it.

Who knows, legalizing pot might even free up some of the prison space because of the 850,000 plus pot related incidents. (According to the Uniform Crime Report)

Personally, I think it should be legalized and controlled like alcohol. It would make medical use easier to obtain. Oh...and before you start thinking I'm a pot head... I tried it a few times, but like a president said..I didn't inhale :innocent:

Pilots can't drink before they fly so not smoking pot shouldn't be that hard to deal with. Legalizing weed would do wonders to the US's "war on drugs". Maybe would could have a war on stupidity, bomb the capital.

I'd rather have him smoke right before than have him shaking and muddled from the bottle of booze the night before. Also, how can you get hurt from a car crash when you're doing 4 mph?

I am for decriminalization of marijuana with the main reasons being:
Making it illegal is what creates the black market and brings violence and organized crime
Nearly half the people in prison are non-violent drug offenders which ruins lives, separates families, and costs taxpayers billions of dollars.
Prohibition just doesn't work - when I was a teen it was easier to get pot than alcohol.
