Resolution is dependent on your screen resolution, and my PC can take screenshots just as fast as your Mac. I'm not trying to derail the topic, but I hate it when Mac users trying to stride in sounding as if they're special and superior to PC users.

Sorry: but we are superior . Even if a Mac & PC have the exact same specs, the mac will still work better.

We should start a "Mac vs. Pc" thread, but this isn't the place. Let's take the discussion somewhere else.

Discuss, only PC and Macs in this topic though. Linux and everything else for another topic. I'd chime in but don't have time right now, will later. I will however direct a good friend of mine to this topic who can debate it into the ground.

One thing I will say, is that people like you disgust me. It's people like you that make me hate Macs. I don't even have that big a deal with Apple products, it's their fanbase I can't stand.

PC>Mac
PC,mac<android

Why? Because all I hafta do is throw crap at it and it sorts it for me. I don't have to dig thru folders and download drivers to make anything work (no that's for xp, you need the drivers for 7).
If its music, its under the music icon.
If its a pic, its in my gallery.
If its an app, its alphabetized or grouped on my desktop with like apps.
No, its not for gaming, but that's why I have my PS (which eats 360 and craps live fees)

Pi, I'm not sure "exact same specs" applies at all here. Macs and PC's have different brands of hardware. If you gave them the exact same hardware, the only difference is Windows versus OSX, which both have their own advantages. I don't have hard numbers, but I suspect that in general Macs cost more than PC's built from parts with similar specs.

And then, of course, here's Android. Another well-designed OS, if not really comparable here since it's designed for weaker mobile architecture. These days, though, it can do most of what you want (unless what you want is to run Crysis).

You are right: allow me to clarify. As an example, if two computer both have a 2.4 gigahertz processor, it does not mean that they have the same hardware. If I have an Intel and you have an AMD, I obviously have the better hardware, even though they both have the same processing power. In general, Macs are more expensive because they are equipped with higher end hardware. Also, even if a Windows and Mac do have identical hardware, Macs are known to make better and more efficient use of available memory and speed. My Dad's computer technically has a more powerful processor, but he is running a windows. My Mac has a slower processor, but works far better.

That's a poor case you got there, pi.
You gotta compare apples to apples. A Mac is just that; a Mac... and its parts are higher end than what?, an Acer? Probably. A dell? Which model? A PC I built myself? Aint no mac gonna touch it :afro:

Well, pi, the problem is that GHz stopped being an effective measure of computing power ages ago. You need to look at raw speed in tandem with number of cores, cache size, architecture, and a lot of other variables. So, two computers with 2.4 GHz processors do not by any means have "the same specs". (By the way, Intel may be flat-out better in the modern CPU market because of the i5 and i7 series, but Intel doesn't always beat AMD. A core or two back I had a Pentium D which was absolutely horrible.)

Again, OSX vs. Windows is not PC vs. Mac. You can slap Ubuntu on your PC and have pretty much all the features of OSX (newer versions all basically use UNIX architecture), or go with Windows, depending on what features you value. I use Windows for gaming and for the broadest capabilities - longer boot times don't matter all that much. Also, note that for pretty much everything besides the operating system itself, performance depends on the program's design and the hardware more than what OS it's running on.

You're also contradicting yourself - you say that Macs are more expensive because they have higher-end hardware. Then you say that your Mac has lower-end hardware but gets by because of OSX being better optimized than Windows. Here's how it works - a Mac is a generally-overpriced, pre-assembled, sleek-looking PC / laptop / what-have-you running OSX. For some people, this is exactly what they want. For others, it is exactly what marketing has convinced them they want.

Hmm Personally i will never buy a mac.
I'm actually writing this from a Mac and i freaking hate this thing :cursing:

Now it all depends on what your going to use your Computer for.
Gaming-wise i would never ever buy a MAC, however i know MAC is loved for anyone making, and editing photos and videos etc....

You can't compare apples and PC's that well overall, much depends on what point.

I have a mac, and use it to play battlefront, call of duty, GTA 4, etc.
