You beat me to it nite...

From BBC:
Disney is buying Lucasfilm, the company behind the Star Wars films, from its chairman and founder George Lucas for $4.05bn (£2.5bn).
Mr Lucas said: "It's now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of film makers."
In a statement announcing the purchase, Disney said it planned to release new film Star Wars Episode 7 in 2015.
That will be followed by Episodes 8 and 9
and then one new movie every two or three years, the company said.
The last Star Wars film was 2005's Revenge of the Sith, and Disney said it believed there was "substantial pent up demand".

...Star wars Episode VII: Jar Jar's Revenge, anybody?? :whistling:

wow what is this... late april foools?? Omg I hope they don't ruin the star wars saga!! Things are already bad enough because:

*star wars galaxies was cancelled
*TOR was opened and it is quite crappy
*I thought the dark side lost when the death star was blown to pieces?
*wasn't darth vader, according to the prophecy, the one who would bring balance to the force?? If there is another movie then there is no balance!
*battlefront 3 never came out

so, i fear that star wars will go through the same phase as star trek. Gene Roddenbery died and then a bunch of people who didn't care about the story made sequels that didn't match the greatness of the original series. :action-smiley-043:

i just felt a disturbance in The Force. It was as if 1000 baby talking mice with big ears and high-pitched whiney voices all cried out in pain, as they were stabbed to death in their cribs by a crazed jedi looking for his lost princess in Neverland. See? It all fits together in this world after all.

Damn I missed my calling as a writer...

Too be all honest, i don't mind this.
If you check the movies the non-cartoon movies they made since 2010 you will see quite a few good movies in there.

Also tell me, how many times has Lucas actually dispointed Star wars fans?
As of movies, I'll be honest Star Wars has been lacking in my opinion since Episode III
Altough i like the Star Wars: the clone wars storyline, it's animated, which doesn't feel like the real deal to me.

We'll see if this is a joke or not, regardless if disney did buy them we'll see what happens, though I'm not going to be let down by this.
I'm not saying Disney will make a great movie, but you can't deny they have the experience, especially with their latest movies.
Till i see a crappy Star wars VII being released I won't even be mad about all this.

A "sellout?" Are we 12? And nevermind that the concept of "selling out" requires the person doing the selling to have at least a shred of dignity and creativity remaining.
