So I go into work tonight, realizing it is 12-21-12. So I am waiting for the end of the world so I can get out of work early. Much to my disappointment, nothing happens. I end up working a full shift. What gives?

Actually the Mayans might have been right and we were wrong, the date of 12/21/12 might be wrong. Some say 12/23/12 instead, etc.

In the end I never believed the world would end by Mayan prediction anyway. Matter of fact the Mayans were not even saying it was the end of the world, only the end of an era.

Agreed with Narg - It's blatantly obvious that there's no evidence for it. Thus there's no need to talk about it beyond a one-second "Heh, that's funny." Unfortunately everyone's been going on about it nonstop for literal years for some reason.

It was never meant to be the "end". It was the beginning of a new Era, period. How stupid we become on the basis of "mob mentality". My understanding on this that we as a civilization, we're going to reach a "plateau" as a race. Our Earth's vibration was supposed to change and we would reach a new "frequency", thus including us in the "intergalactic" population. A new age. Beings were supposed to visit us and invite us into their "interstellar community". That's what I understood.
