This is a public hearing at the RI state house on 9 horribly flawed gun bills. There are 12 reps and the seats should have been full. There were a couple more earlier on...
This picture demonstrates how they whisper and joke while citizens are given only 90 seconds to speak their piece on such a divisive issue.
Im not crying bias here. This was the attitude towards people on both sides of the issue.
Think about that though: 90 seconds and the people WE (the people of RI, not you) voted into these seats can't muster the respect to even listen.
Pathetic

Same thing happens here in Wisconsin. It is pathetic to see our government inaction.

I have a similar case.. I went to go watch my dad testify for a medical bill a couple months ago and out of the 6 people up on the council, two of them were screwing around on their tablets.

Anyone ready to peel off the scab on this topic? I am because I know my inbox is going to blow up from all the alerts on gun control measures that I'm sure are already on there way to D.C and other states.

Seems risky. Many people here really like guns, and many hate them. I personally don't have a problem with them (e.g. hunting, sport, protection) but I think that much tougher regulations should be enacted, such as background checks and psychological evaluations, because almost every massacre this and last year has been with someone with a mental disorder.
Bottom line, there are too many guns in the United States, about 100,000,000 I believe. And considering that there have been 994 massacres in the last 1,015 days in the USA, there should be more rules. It's a scary thought where a Caucasian male can walk into the most populated airport in the world with an Assault-Rifle scott-free, or able to buy a fully-automatic gun at Walmart for $1,000.

If you'd like some comical, but true, material to watch, look at Jim Jeffries comedy show on Gun Control. Australian comedian, hilarious guy.

Criminals don't care about gun laws...that's why they're criminals. :gun_bandana:

That's why we need to stop making consumer guns, and buy back all the existing ones! As a bonus, they'll stop getting smuggled over the border to arm entire Mexican cartels!

(I'm not going to be taking this thread very seriously or getting into deep arguments, by the way. I'm sure you guys are tired of that.)
