I start up the game, select my profile, join a multiplayer server, get the "Joining Server" page, and then bam. Crash. This only happened today, I have no idea why. Tried a reinstall, and nothing. Any suggestions from you techies?

I had the same problem and it had to do with my sound settings. Eyes walked me thru fixing it.

Yes it could well be, EAX can cause this with non sound blaster cards. It happened to me and I fixed it also.

Happens to me all the time, i just do join no login and it works.

It happened to me a while ago, and I lowered the sound settings on my computer, and all the sound settings on swbf2, Battle Speech, effects, the whole thing. Hope this helps!

It's a common problem among people running Win7 or Vista, has something to do with sound. I found it was mostly with Realtek sound cards. Try going into sound settings and enabling "Stereo Mix". That fixed my problem but granted this was a few years ago. Hope it helps.

You might also try plugging in a microphone if you have one.

I simply fixed it by buying a cheap sound blaster card with EAX support when I had this issue, not had a problem since.
