North Korea in "state of war"

Surprised no one’s brought this up yet - Kim Jong-Un has been escalating his rhetoric against the west to the extreme at the moment, most recently saying that North Korea is entering a "state of war" with South Korea. I’m aware NK has a history of this kind of over-the-top claptrap, but it’s still pretty concerning, especially what with the suggestion of a pre-emptive nuclear strike by the North.

I’m pretty ignorant on this subject, but curious to know about it. If anyone would like to shed some light on this matter it would be much appreciated.

Jong-Un likes to hang out with Dennis Rodman, who elaborated "Instead of dreaming up ways to annihilate the West, the Supreme Leader spends most of his free time watching American sports and listening to 1980s disco tracks", according to the oddball retired US basketball star.

Disco?!?...Dennis Rodman?!?..He's definitely [m'kay] up in the head! To attack South Korea, and it's plausible since they are desparate and all poor, would be a huge mistake. Maybe he'll realize it in time.

None of this is new behavior. Un is just trying to gain the respectful of the military commanders, who probably still don't view his reign as legitimate over theirs.

We just flew a pair of B2s over there, dropped fake bombs, and called them back. Let Kim sleep on that.

All I can say is "Bring it on Chumlee! I prefer a straight fight to all this sneaking around."

agreed. He just wants to "do something" so he can get some respect from the army. If he attacked, north korea will most definitely loose. How can a country like that win against two modern and industrialized nations? impossible. In fact, lets remember that the U.S almost won that war but american troops had to retreat because the Chinese got involved. Today it's the same thing. The U.S could win quickly, unless the Chinese start causing trouble.

history repeating itself

Not exactly Otto, the Cold war was fought without weapons. The Korean war started before the Cold war.
Edit: Sorry, I was wrong.. the Cold war started immediately after WW2. The Korean war was about stopping the spread of communism. The Cold war was an "idealogy" war.
