Recent scandals

So is everyone cool with everything going on? IRS has run amok. Benghazi is still a problem. AP/Fox news investigation. Verizon and all others handing over mountains of data. It's unending.

This is why I keep saying the government needs to shrink. Previous administrations put these tools in place and future administrations bend these tools to their will forming policies and standards that nowhere near resemble the initial purpose. You don't know what leaders tomorrow will bring, so you better be careful with what laws you are looking to get passed today. As I see it, the 1st amendment, 4th amendment, 5th amendment and obviously the 2nd are being bent out of shape every single day now.

I'm not really posting this to argue about it nor am I going to get into posting links to prove my point. I feel my point is well proven, I just enjoy reading other people's opinions.

I work until 4am and usually sleep until 10am. Waking up to the news day already in full swing. I used to joke about "let's see who [m'kay] up the world today?". The last year, and especially the last month I have been leery even reading the paper. Tom Clancy on acid could not come up with a more [m'kay] up scenario or plot line. Seriously, they must be adding "stupid juice" to the water supply in order to keep the population so friggin' ignorant. The apathy is what kills me.

I wasn't aware that the IRS or Benghazi things were still "going on." You're right that we still need more information about the AP probe; I haven't heard anything more yet though.

The Verizon phone records collection? It's completely lawful. And by "phone records" they mean the time of the call, length, and people involved, not anything spoken during the calls.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-22809541
A senior congressman, House intelligence committee chairman Mike Rogers, told reporters that collecting Americans' phone records was legal, authorised by Congress and had not been abused by the Obama administration.

He also said it had prevented a "significant" attack on the US "within the past few years", but declined to offer more information.

Now, if you don't want that to be lawful, feel free to push for the Patriot Act to be repealed.

Do people not want the patriot act repealed?

If everyone knew what the CIA did, it would be so full of scandals that it would not exist. The CIA is an intelligence agency and the only way they can find information is by spying.

Must be some still out there. Not sure why. Especially when it allows programs like this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/investiga ... story.html

When you say things like this, it makes you look very dumb. Choosing to ignore them does not simply make the problems disappear. I think you missed the point of this thread as well. Take all of the recent scandals, and look for the commonality. A bloated and ever consuming central government that lies to her people.

Less than 6 hours sleep per day...Pretty awesome.

Now we know who 'sleeps' 23.9/7

Obama's administration is run by apathetic Chicago-style Gangster thugs, and the Bamer is the incompetent Boss who wants everyone to bow to his wishes. He appoints 'Lap dogs' to important posts. Rewards those who would fall on their sword for him (such as Susan Rice) to cover his butt. He just doesn't care what 'The People' think! He got his second term, used the IRS to hunt down his opponents to help beat Romney (or whomever won the Republican Primary). He's a piece of [poo]! Crater....you [m'kay] awake yet?!? Nothing surprises me here. And I am sworn to enforce the Constitution. We need a [poo] load of whistle blowers anymore. Sad... We also need Term-Limits for the Congress. Thinking of a funny yet acurate design for Obama's Pres Library. Sooo many possibilities based on failure and scandal... :gunsmilie:

However, I do see an 'Impeachment', or an attempt to do so, on the horizon. Rightfully so. Ironically, His Highness is meeting with the Chinese this week, and the 'spying' scandal into Citizens' personal emails etc, would be well-respected by the Chinese authoritarian government. Should thaw any icy feelings between Obamanation and the new chink Prez.

Democrats using tools put in place by republicans to invade our privacy and monitor our every move under the guise of "security".

Still believe there is any difference at all between "parties"?
