Read a kool article about "Easter Eggs" in movies, particularly JJ Abrams. Easter Eggs in films, is when hidden items such, in this case, R2D2, are given a sort of "cameo". In everyone of JJ Abrams films, he has R2D2 in selected scenes. Steven Spielberg did the same in some of his films, even the ones he did not direct. Below are some samples of "Easter Eggs".....

...one more since 3 is the limit per post. It's going to be interesting when he directs the new Star Wars films. He stated that he loved Star Wars as a kid, and tries to bring both Star Trek and Star Wars together. Will he do "Easter Eggs" of Star Trek when he does Star Wars? It's going to be fun searching for them.

Edit: maybe ill leave Cyrus out of it. These are very interesting Pan. Didnt know about the Star Trek one. The one where Spielberg glued a mini R2D2 onto the 'Close Encounters of the 3rd kind' ship model I actually saw up close in person. They had, and maybe still have it on display at the Aviation Museum at Dulles Airport near DC where I saw it years ago. Took pictures and need to find them. Here's a link to some pics when it was being shown at Smithsonian. Good pics, and one shows how Spielberg used R2.

Wasn't aware that the Smithsonian had such things there. I have to plan a trip there soon. Which one has the models on display? I understand the Smithsonian is comprised of many buildings.

just saw the Star Trek one the other day...if you guys don't know the story behind that, what happened was: J.J. Abrams came on Conan once, and on national TV, said he would put R2-D2 into Star Trek: Into Darkness, and, apparently, he actually did it. That thing on Conan was like 6-8 months ago tho.
