Austin, TX

Postby Bryant » Tue Oct 21, 2014 12:34 am

So I'm going to be in Austin this weekend for an interview with IBM. I'll have one night and about half a day to do something. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hey, I live there! I have so much information I can give you, idk how much you want so i'll try to summarize. If you want a good restaurant (I'm assuming you're going to be downtown), I'd go with Hopdoddy (gourmet burgers). If there's a line at Hopdoddy, you can try to sit at the bar and get the full menu without waiting. Or if you want tacos, Torchy's is my personal favorite. Make sure you try the queso. Don't go to Franklins. The lines always too long and it's not actually that great. As far as doing stuff, Barton Springs is pretty cool, I worked there over the summer, the only downside is that it's cold as [m'kay]. Another cool place is alamo draft house. If you have the time I would totally go. Decent food + movie. Or if you're into clubbing, go to 6th street downtown. From what I've heard that streets always pretty lively.

If you have any other questions I could probably answer them. Have fun :)

The last time I went to Hopdoddy there was some sort of Match.com gay meetup. I got my burger and got the hell out of there.

^well [poo]. That must have been awful

I will say theres a lot of gay couples walking, especially in the mall. But even so, Austin's [m'kay] great. Im not even a UT fan but I can tell you that austin is waaaaay more fun than dallas/college station. Unless you like farming and guns.

get a hooker?
Pootie Tang will draw you a picture of how he gonna kick your ass, then mail it to you ten days in advance. The picture gets there right? You're goin', "What the hell is this?" and then Pootie Tang knocks on your door, Promptly kicks your ass and you still won't know what happened to you!

If you're into skating there's some good ditches in the area.
