Apparently Ford lost power and dead sticked his plane onto a golf course. From the looks of it, he slammed it hard enough to collapse the gear, as his plane was made to land on both hard and soft surfaces. He was alert and conscious with head gashes, but if he lost all power, he did a damn fine job putting her down where he did. I'm sure even the Greens Keeper will be pleased.

One would just assume that if you can fly into dangerous missions that you'd know how to crash land safely.

Scary. First Ford breaks a leg, then crashes a plane. Sounds like some higher being doesn't want SW7 made...maybe it's because Ford removed the Ark from its resting place

Here's a more complete article with interesting photos of crash and of his different planes. I once saw him in the cockpit of his Citation Sovereign with a with haired copilot as he was firing up engines as I was walking out to preflight a Citation X I flew...and then saw him takeoff.

Thank goodness! Everyone should know by now that Fords don't do well in crash tests... ehem.
