Star Wars spin-off "Rogue One" teaser trailer *Updated*

The plot to Rogue One has been revealed to fans at the Star Wars Celebration convention in California. I've put it in the spoiler tags below incase you don't want to know the plot just yet:

"A new Star Wars movie will tell the story of a mission by a group of resistance fighters to steal plans to the infamous Death Star.
It will be the first in a series of on-screen adventures exploring stories outside the core Star Wars saga.
The movie will be set before the first part of the original series, Episode IV: A New Hope.
The film's British director Gareth Edwards said that because the Jedi Knights were all but wiped out in the preceding film Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, his story would be different from the other Star Wars movies.
He said it would not focus on people who were able to use the mysterious "force".
"It comes down to a group of individuals that don't have magical powers that have to somehow bring hope to the galaxy," he said.
Edwards, a lifelong Star Wars fan, also noted that in the previous movies, characters were clearly defined as good or bad. He said he wanted Rogue One to be more complex.
"The thing that interests me about it, is Star Wars was basically very black and white. Our movie is grey."
Rogue One will star British Oscar nominee Felicity Jones, as a rebel soldier."

why does this director want to do things differently with star wars? Star Wars is supposed to be white and black, not grey.

I want grey. Absolutely [m'kay] the [poo] writing that has taken over the entire franchise since RotJ. How can anyone argue that the series is not grey? Darth Vader was a genocidal murderer who in the end was redeemed by his son. "A good act does not erase the bad, nor the bad the good" - Stannis Baratheon.

I absolutely have loved the mini-series within the franchise that have really tried to depart from the "jedi so gud, let's write about them!" such as Traviss, Karpyshyn (sp?), and the NJO is pretty solid as well imo.
