I'd been trying to catch up, having not watched the first runs when they came out, I've been watching reruns out of order.
This preview looks like a even better season now that the dust has settled on the main character's background story.

This is going to be a fantastic show, starting this season.

Last season was about on par with season 3 of The Clone Wars (i.e. not bad, but needs more work). The artists are still adjusting to the style, the actors are also adjusting, etc.

If this season is as good as season 4 of The Clone Wars it's going to be good.

Seeing as how Rex, Asoka, etc are coming back, I think that's what's going to happen.

it's starting to get better! I just hope they never bring back those "wookies" from the first episode though...

Dave Filoni admitted they didn't have the resources to make the wookiees look good. He isn't planning on bringing them back until they can look more like they did in The Clone Wars. I guess we will see.

Wookiees from Star Wars: The Clone Wars (left) and Star Wars Rebels (right). The Wookiee on the left has more defined fur strips and softer facial features that resemble Wookiees from the films (more realistic). The Wookiees on the right have a sleeker, slimmer, and a more painted design.

I really can't get into this show.. makes me feel like a filthy casual. If you're on facebook this would be a good group to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/533341320109211/ .I've tried watching a couple episodes here and there and my brain just can't get into the story. I don't know if its because of how stubborn and passionate I am about preserving/restoring the expanded universe or if its too dull (there are few bright colors in it.)

My son has been watching more than I have.
