I'm sure there is a richer more interesting story, but what I would say goes something like this....
Once upon a time there was WGO.
WGO had rules to be a family friendly place to play SWBFII
Certain members started making up their own rules and tried taking over things like teamspeak
WGO support cracked over the importance of SWBFII and the family friendly nature it was known for. Some left, some really didn't care
Certain members didn't like the fact that they weren't powerful enough to keep the community SWBFII and family centered
Certain members split off to form GMRZ where they could make their own rules.
as fortold WGO key financial contributors the REAL WGO power decided they didn't want to keep paying for Star Wars...they wanted to focus on Battlefield games and not enforce family friendly rules
Because of bad blood between those who left and those who stayed SWGO was born to keep alive the Star Wars Battlefront servers/group/community
WGO carries on doing the Battlefield thing, SWGO carries on doing the Star Wars Battlefront II thing, GMRZ carries on doing their thing...
I'm sure there are more colorful histories...but that is it in a nutshell from where I sit....
