George Lucas specifically said that anything Star Wars-related outside of his movies and TV shows is not actually canon. Haha...good one...

Actually, he didn't really say that. He said it's an entirely different universe to him, it's not *his* universe. He never said it's not canon, technically.

He doesn't need any more money from the franchises when he has skywalker light and sound and THX.

The Star Wars franchise has become an industry on itself, it won't be long before someone else..with George's consent...takes over and releases new material. He's got countless of novels to revive the franchise with. I don't think we saw the last of Star Wars in the big screen. Oh and Wulfi...what do you mean stay in topic? No BF3 IS in topic...we are talking about George Lucas aren't we?

On the net from an interview Lucas gave Tuesday.

George Lucas to Retire from Producing Epic Movies
Mark Hughes, Contributor: I’m looking forward to “Red Tails” and would be happy to see Lucas making lots of this type of film. But I hope he doesn’t abandon the bigger films forever [...] Carol Pinchefsky, Contributor: ME TOO! I thought I was the only one who loved the prequels!

George Lucas, whose headstone will surely read, “I created Star Wars…and Greedo shot first,” has announced that he will be retiring from big-budget movies in order to make smaller art-house films.

The New York Times wrote,

“I’m retiring,” Lucas said. “I’m moving away from the business, from the company, from all this kind of stuff.”

The decision came on the heels of the snub of his latest film, Red Tails (which opens on January 20), a movie that Lucas produced (for $58 million) and distributed (another $35 million) himself when studios wouldn’t finance a film with an all-black cast.

Fans of Lucas’ first Star Wars trilogy were also vocally less enamored of his prequel trilogy.

But extremely ardent fans of Lucas (like me) know his other, more intimate works. His first film, THX-1138, was an abstract yet slyly humorous work. His second film, American Graffiti, was a sweetly nostalgic slice of teen life circa 1962. And then there’s the 1994 Radioland Murders, a murder mystery with 1930s screwball aesthetics.

None of these movies plugged themselves directly into the pleasure centers of our brains as the Star Wars saga did. But they were all good in their own right.

Although Lucas will be putting down the lightsaber, he may not hang up the bullwhip: he’s left himself open to returning to major-league cinema for a fifth installment of the Indiana Jones series.

Really? I didn't know that the studios refused to fund Red Tails because of an all Black cast. Bigotry in America is still strong in the 21st century. I'm also glad to hear that the Indiana Jones franchise is still alive. Thanks 40.

George Lucas has very little to do with Lucasarts and their decisions, especially in the past 8 years or so. The decision whether they make BF3 is not his to make. That's the head staff at LA's choice.

So, BF3 is off topic.

Offtopic: If you're going to go into nickname territory, at least try to not sound like an idiot. Wulfy would be correct, not Wulfi. However I do say thanks for capitalizing my name, not everyone does that much. It takes so little effort to prevent yourself from sounding like you're 12 years old, I don't know why more people don't go the extra yard or two.

Because people are lazy. That is exactly why.

I can't argue with that.
