questions! I need answers to not offend or break rules

Ok, this afternoon I was playing at JBA and I said two words, that I didn't think were offensive, but it seems I was wrong. I am not american but I believe I speak good english. Still, there are two words that need clarification on the offensive scale. Forgive me if i'm posting it here... if you want, you can erase this topic after I get the answer?

1. Is "what the hell" offensive"? Is "what the heck" offensive?
2. is "effing" offensive. I wrote it but the auto admin doesn't warn of anything.

I said those two things in game today but I got warned by the real admin. Sorry if it seemed offensive, I had no intentions of offending. However, I seriously thought it was ok because the auto admin never warned me for using those words. The real admin told me to watch my mouth so now i'm confused. I need american help here!

thanks!

You claim not to be American, but list your location as Indianapolis...interesting...:whistling:

lol no im not lying. I am venezuelan, lived in Brazil for 9 years and now i'm living in Indianapolis. You shouldn't be surprised... the U.S is very multicultural!

You know, sometimes people think i'm american because my accent is good. Still, there are a few things I don't know very well.

My advice is just to keep your thoughts to yourself.
Beside there are so many more colorful things to say like...

Overall don't say anything you wouldn't want your grandmother to hear you say.

what the heck- generally acceptable
what the hell- impolite to an extent, but not really ban/warning worthy

most any f-bomb related abbreviation will get you warned or banned.

expressing anger and frustration over the chat is pointless anyway. it wont help your situation

so I imagine the warning was because of the f related word "effing" then?

but yeah you are right. I was just complaining about some noob fixing the bridge. Not that I was really angry or anything. I just like to complain once in a while. :fight2:

I wasn't the admin that gave the warning, but the"'effing" part is most likely the word that got warned. Creative spellings of a banned word is still a banned word.

Otto, I've seen you on JBA enough to know that you should be well informed of what is not allowed. Stop doing stupid [poo]...stop reporting that you did stupid [poo], and suck up the punishment for the stupid [poo] you did.

dude, then you don't know how to read you dummy. I am not complaining. I was making a question and needed answers. I thought effing was like a substitute for the word that would not be offensive. Why did I think this:

1. the auto admin doesn't warn when I say it.
2. I have seen others countless times say it.
3. I thought it was a word like in spanish. For example, in spanish we say "conchale" instead of saying the swear "coño". People say "conchale" to not offend and it is said quite playfully. I always thought it was the same.

DId I get punished? No, I was warned. I never complained about it. Ask the admin who warned me dummy :star-wars-smiley-008:

also, my question was answered. Please close this thread.
