Team Selection and AI Number

Having played on multiple Conquest servers for the past few months or so (before I preferred HA), I think I'm now comfortable enough to lobby for the permission of players to select their teams upon entering the server.

This reduces the tight control placed on gameplay and allows players the freedom to pick their favourite side in any conflict. Contrary to the leading argument against this amendment the rules, that being that teams would be unbalanced, Hypernia Battlegrinder works beautifully! :)

It's been awhile since we've made drastic change to the main servers, so I suggest we try this.

Another suggestion, though perhaps of less importance, is the AI count on the server. Would it be possible to increase this? That would be lovely.

For the team switching, on most maps like Death Star, or Jabba's Palace, the teams would probably stack greatly, going to the rebels advantage. Just thinking.

I went to Hyperternia's server yesterday and it was Republic 13...CIS 4, yeah....let the players choose factions. :roll:

There are some TK On hardcore-type servers that let you choose sides, but they generally only have like 15 people on max, who tend to balance the teams themselves (the more skilled players tend to do that, as they want to win on their own merits).

For a more mainstream server like JBA and definitely for HA, stick with auto. Less work for the admins in balancing teams.

Like stated above, teams are very uneven in every single game if its player select.
If a good player joins when they are killed they swap over to his side to keep from getting killed.
Also on certain maps certain sides have advantages that make it nearly impossible to win against that team.
Once a team is stacked, no one wants to even it out so it stacks even further.
0.00000001 percent of the players use teamwork, so they like being on a team with lots of players.

Well, I guess this is futile; I still disagree, however.

Would someone care to offer an opinion on increased AI #?
