Fix for Stuttering Sound in Win7

Known this for a while, just haven't gotten around to posting it.

As you all know, in the operating system Windows 7, you always have stuttering issues with the sound in SWBF2. Well, here is a fix that has proven to work for me and a few other friends of mine:

For PC Users (non-steam): Right click the SWBF2 Icon, choose Properties, then enter the following in the Target field: -audiomixbuffer 100
For PC UserS (steam only): Open the Steam main window, go into your game library, find Star Wars: Battlefront 2, right click SWBF2, choose Properties, then choose Set Launch Options... in the first tab, enter -audiomixbuffer 100

Now, for some soundcards, the buffer rate may have to be slightly modified to still prevent the stuttering. You can try 80, 90, 95, 115, etc. until the stuttering stops. Please see the images attached below if you still do not understand what I mean by the above steps.

What exactly do you mean by "stuttering sound?" Are you talking about that occasional loud static rip that likes to invade your eardrums every now and then?

My game wouldn't run after I entered it, so I took it back out.

Does it simply crash to desktop, or does it say something different? If I had to assume, your game won't run because the buffer rate is either too low or too high for your soundcard.

What I mean by stuttering sound, is in constant looping of a very brief sound effect in the Battlefront 2 sound engine that lasts for anywhere around 1 second to 5 seconds.

Makes it sound like some 80's dance remix.

What I meant is what I said. Game simply won't even run when the command is entered into the line. Doesn't wind up, doesn't shut down, nothing.

Perhaps you were targeting the SWBFII_Launch.exe application instead of the actual game file? If it's not even launching at all, it means the application can't handle the command and thus, refuses to launch.
