Personal Info being broadcasted

I have a serious gripe with one of your Admins....
Eyes Only
about a week and a half ago he used his ability as an admin to get my personal info and then he proceeded to put it out onto the game....when I complained about it he threatened to ban me
I mentioned this to Matthews Dad and he confirmed it and said the issue was indeed serious and would be handled
Well when I was on again last night Eyes Only once again got my info (I am using a different name because of the first situation) and once again he threw it out there in public and told me if I "harassed" him about it he would ban me.....I never once cursed or insulted him....I simply told him he was wrong for what he was doing
Now I can not figure out for the life of me why this type of behavior is being tolerated by the people in the positions to deal with it.....how was this guy was not striped of his admin capability is ludicrous
How would you all feel if people started putting your name and where you live out into a forum like that?

Eyes Only isn't a regular admin or community member, he's more of a friend who's helped work on many SWBF2 projects such as the no pull server. That being said, we are working on the situation of the way he admin's in HA and his involvement in the community, and do take this situation seriously.
You should know however, that it is not possible to use any admin "powers" to determine who someone is in real life. The only info available to admins which isn't available to anyone is the cd key hash - which doesn't contain any information on who someone is.
The tool most likely used is gamespy - you can lookup any player name and it will give the email address used and other aliases. If your real name was contained in your email address, that's probably how he got it.
In any case, this is unacceptable. We'll let you know the outcome, and if Eyes would like to respond here that would be great.

Thank you for your quick response
My point is that after the first time he did it you would think he wouldn't do it again......but obviously he doesn't really care about what is considered acceptable and unacceptable.
I don't know what I did to garner this "special" attention from him but in the 4+ years I have been playing this game I have NEVER EVER seen this type of behavior
I would really like for him to respond so I can see why he thinks this is a funny thing to do.....and why when he is called on it he takes the cowards way out by threatening to Ban me

Ah so I thought I was the only one. A few months back eyes only put my real name up in chat but I didn't think a lot of it at the time since I thought it was some weird bug or something, but now reading this I'm worried. I'll have to go back and check my accounts and make sure any other personal information isn't lurking out there.

Ok, obviously someones a little in over their heads. I pulled his info off the gamespy master server public database. the information was public, not private, as his email contains jspencer, which i assumed was his name, and a further query lists his full name on his "{BEER}Lord_Papelbon" account...
@pedroia/nick green/james spencer: if your so "concerned" about your "personal" information, you made the dumbest mistake you can make when it comes to email creation; NEVER USE YOUR REAL NAME. and for crying out loud, theres even an option to hide your email and other information.
continuing @ pedroia, you came onto the server and said, i quote, "So eyes only, was it worth it?" like something happened to me, like you are more than a minor annoyance. most of the players on the server will agree with me when i say you are nothing but a whiny noob. YOU WHINE MORE THAN I DO, and thats saying something. you constantly ks and double and triple pull, and every time you kill someone you tell them that they suck, which was pissing everyone off. i could have kicked you for a number of reasons (killstealing, disrespecting others, teamkilling) but no, i decided to have some fun and freak you out so you would leave, it worked remarkably well, and several players thanked me for it.
Will someone please tell me how the information is "personal" when its on a publicly accessible database?
the information accessible from gpsp.gamespy.com includes the following
Profileid: the serial of the players profile. (pretty much useless)
nickname: the players nickname, in this case, Pedroia
firstname: Targets first name (if the target has filled this field out in the past)
lastname: Targets last name (if the target had filled this field out in the past)
email: email target used to register the account
uniquenick: unique nickname (if someone has previously played a game or used a gamespy service that requires a unique nickname)
Namespaceid: obsolete/unused, always returns 1
any one of these public records can be queried for the rest of them
As far as im concerned, the only thing questionable here is my ethics of removing someone from the server. there was no hacking, bug exploitation, cheating, etc. of any kind going on, or releasing of private information. and if your worried about your "personal" or "sensitive" information, dont post it on public game servers. message ends.
