Server Complaint

Hello,

I apologise for my first message on this forum to be a negative one. I tried to contact admins in the server about my issue but had no luck. Today it appeared that one of your admins, who goes by the name of Panana has banned me from your NYC server for a unknown period of time (it was during a map change (EDIT: Found out it was 1 day)). At one stage I called him a noob, in response I got called a moron. The time was just before 23:30 GMT (time of posting is about 00:00 GMT). I kindly request Panama posts the chat log on here to defend his action, as he said he would.

A fellow player, called lord...something was also banned.

I know this might seem pity but being an old SotG admin myself (a few years ago now) it frustrates me that this still happens within swbf2 months before closure.

I will post logs when I'm done playing the game. I warned you and your buddies, but you kept going. I don't appreciate players getting involved in my duties as admin. I hope you learn something today... let me do my job w/o interruptions and heckling from players. I don't want to ban players with the possibility of game lasting a few weeks. I really don't get it sometimes... you didn't heed my warnings, yet you're here disputing a ban. This all could of been avoided if you would of just let things go and played the game. Next time take me seriously.

I will not dispute this until the logs are published. I asked what I was being warned for, you could not/did not tell me a reason. I would like to add they were not my 'buddies', just other people in the server that thought you were an appalling admin.

I banned 3 players, one for an hour.. and two (including yourself), for a day for harassment. You give me a hard time...I give you a ban.

I will have to say that after a night of rest, I agree that this could of been handled differently. I didn't have to go the way I did, but at the moment..it seemed like the right thing to do. In hindsight, maybe banning was too harsh, but the right buttons were pushed and this was the consequences.

That is ok, I have been busy working all day so haven't had time to read it until now anyway.

Please see the procedure for bad language (as stated on SWGO.)

No Bad Language
Language that has curse words or that is vulgar or offensive will not be tolerated on SWGO SWBF2 servers. Acronyms for curse words and evading word filter with characters are considered using bad language.

Penalties
- Warning
- Kick
- 10 Minute Ban
- Admin Option of up to a 1 Week Ban.

Firstly, I will address PurpleWombat's situation.
You comment "this was a general comment, sort of poking fun" (1st line). This is very similar to Wombat's general comment, "fuku campers". He rightly got warned for this by the auto-admin. But as a general comment, you banned him for it, even though he did not aggravate the situation further than the initial comment? It appears the warning was enough for him to stop, but you banned him anyway? Why did you feel the warning was not enough? Why did you not follow the rules?

Secondly, poor example and behaviour set by the "admin" for swearing directly at Purple Wombat. I think it is completely irrational that admins, a member of the swbf2 community can swear at another member of the community and feel they have the moral upper ground. Thirdly, (line 14) caleb rightly banned for C word. (Still not following procedure though) - Its a vial word though

4. I believe I was wrongly warned.
(line 15) "[=SotG=Scopia_Ey] Panama, you did you just swear at?" which I corrected to "who" 10 seconds later. - Panama states he did not understand what i had meant, but it fairly clear what I meant.I did not get a response so I was lead to believe it was aimed at me, I believe he purposely did not respond at all the my question so I was meant to believe it was aimed at me. (happens again later on)

I was then warned for "for being a dousche bag". (cleansing product for v*****) All in all quite an offensive word.

Instead of retaliating, I ask again if he called me a moron? Just like before he gives me no response, purposefully trying to make me believe it was aimed at me.

5. Commander banned for "fu" for a week, not directed at panama (unknown who it was directed at) (he wasn't the maul as Lord~Nova$hadow was) - Lord~Nova$hadow apologies. Panama once again does not follow the - warn, kick, 10min ban procedure.

I would like to say I understand admins should stand together and I don't expect much to come of this, but I would like the senior admins (server owner) if this is the type of admin he wants running the server?

Also, are the procedures being followed correctly by Panama?

Wow dude. It's obvious you did not read my post. At whom did I "swear" to? I banned after the warning because he did it in front of me, showing no respect for the admin or SWGO. I won't even get into this with you since as I stated, you didn't bother reading my post with the chats. It's obvious you have some sort of "butthurt" complication.. but I'm not a doctor.

I would consider 'moron' to be swearing, if not, it is highly offensive. Either way not language that should be used on SWGO.

I want to make this clear, I have the up most respect for SWGO, they have undoubtedly kept swbf2 multiplayer online going, for that I am thankful and I know many others are too. Whoever has funded this and get it going past its 'use-by-date' thank you.

Words like "Hell" and "damn" are also allowed on the server. So I would say the official rule that is stated is inaccurate, but as far as I know Pan said nothing that is in the list of banned words.
