Recently JoyStiq.com picked up on a rumor from Kotaku saying that the game may not be entirely dead. It has instead been given new life in the form of Star Wars Battlefront: Online. Its being developed by Slant Six Games and Lucas Arts and is said to be launching sometime in 2011. The game will presumably focus on online game play. Here's the JoyStiq.com article.

Anyway, to create a game "focused on online gameplay" and not release a PC version is a pretty bad move.....but that's irrelevant because in my eyes, swbf3 is dead until Lucasarts say otherwise.

You didn't read the whole article did you Corpse? SWBF3 is dead. This story is about a new game being developed that may have been the source of a SWBF3 casting call. You would know that had you read the whole article. Its a rumor yes but about a possible online game developed by Lucas Arts i.e. new horizons for SWGO.
And online-only games sell well even when not released for the PC. Between the PS3 and Xbox Bf1943 sold well and made DICE and EA quite a bit of money. Multiplayer sells, jusy look at the more recent COD games.

I read the link you supplied (Skimmed) and read the kokatsrdyghsfn article a few minutes after posting.
I still retain that whatever name is given to this rumour, I'm not accepting it at true until some confirmation by LA is given.
