Server seems to be getting worse by the week, my ping was around 160/170 two weeks ago, now its almost 270
Same for Jedi Battle Arena, all other server remain the same.

Yeah, those are pretty high. I know that's a high number for Smokescreen too. Probably someone downloading some bad porn...of course, I have no clue what I'm talking about. In the meantime, I would be happy to beat your high laggy arse like a rented mule if I can.

It's tricky because my ping hasn't changed on the server at all, but there have been some complaints of lag.
I'll try troubleshooting this today and let you know. I've already changed a couple things, if you have time log on and check your ping.

And if you want to know WHERE your high ping is occurring.... investigate using tracert instead of the simpler ping....
I had AWFUL ping/lag troubles the other day. Once I did a tracert, I realized the problem was very very near to home.... Went to basement, unplugged cable modem to reset it.....unplugged my router to reset it...... and voila.... my awful bouts of lag have been a thing of the past. I would have suspected somewhere else as being the problem if it hadn't been for running tracert and seeing that I had high ping on my first hop or two already.

Not sure how the server is set-up however if there were any updates happening throughout the week that the ISP was doing across the servers or in the data centre this could be a factor.
I noticed like sawyer states the lag as recently been worse. My ping has been 190+ and then in jumped to 208+ so not a great increase but you can feel the effect in-game. When my ping was at 260+ before Christmas playing on HA was downright bad however since uping my BB to 8MB my ping revolves around the 200 mark. On the plus-side my experience now is somewhat better, quicker, smoother and puts me on more of a level playing field with you guys in the states/elsewhere who have pings ranging from the sub 90's to 150. If I can just get it to 150 that would be great!
Hopefully Matt might find through his investigations the reason for the issue.
Regards,
Kren

A good point what with people having modems, routers and wireless connections. But for me the problem was only with the (SWGO) servers as my connection has been fine with everything else including other SWBF2 servers. The last two nights my ping has been around 270 but tonight it's a steady 180, so either Matt or the server provider has changed something.
Hope its stay like this

I must agree those are problems mainly with internet connections and usually not with your or with server ISP
Look at my tracert results:
- Code: Select all

18 185 ms 177 ms 185 ms 130-199-245-216.reverse.lstn.net [216.245.199.130]
The biggest jump.... from 36 to 180 is within the telia.net network. Theres no way to fix this.
But... while ping to the IP is around 185... my ping IN GAME is above 240. I would gladly play with <200 ping and will own HA as I did for years, but 240 isn't playable. At all.

I'm having the data center do an O/S reload right now.
