Most people now playing are on 1.1 but I've seen a few running the unpatched version.

No, you haven't. If you're running v1.0, you can't see v1.1 servers.

That only works if you have the 1.0 disc originally. I had to find a way of running 1.0 with a no CD thingy because my disc came with 1.1 already.
