Well corpse I forgot you should check the benchmarcs of each CPU.

Well here is a site where you can check prices, speed everything you need to know.
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

My mum left the monitor on for 14 hours and now there's static burned into almost the whole screen, and I can barely read text. Looks like my PC budget's going down.

If you want to pay the shipping, I can send you a 21" Sony Trinitron monitor.
The catch is that it weighs about 50lbs (not sure what the metric conversion is on that)

Appreciate the offer man, but I recently removed my Dad's old tank of a TV from his house, and his stand for it was given a permanent sag from it. I doubt my desk would even fair that well.

and correction to what I said about PCs... I've just realized I'm 1 year late and forgot about what I've read recently... yeah, quads are the best choice now, cheap and quick.
To monitor, I've a really good one, I bought it 3 months ago, it had all the good marks in the internet and in magazines. Realatively good price for its value and AMAZING colours + damn good quality and cos it's LED it uses only 22W :)
here it is...

btw, I've just asked my friend who is a pro at comps and in 45 minutes found some really good alternativs for your comp. Just tell me what's your budget cos I have to look up to some USA shop and compare prices. And tell me if you want to overclock it. I will write down this list in max 1 day.

And there is a cheaper version:

GAMD Phenom 2 x2 565 BOX Black Edition

Radeon 5850

4-6GB RAM OCZ 1600Mhz DDR3 (or KIngston, same parameters)

then the thing (idk the english equivalent) that is responsible for power: Chieftec 600 (when you don't want to overclock) and OCZ Fatality OCZ750FTY-EU 750 W(when wanna overclock)

and mobo: asus M4A77TD/U35

Good hunting for best prices!

Thanks, I don't live in the USA so their shops may be unavailable for me.
My price range will hopefully be £600-750. I'm not going to overclock it.

Smart but from my expirience you wont need too.

And if your still buying that GPU you told me about it will never need overclocking.
