So lately I've been noticing a lot of phantom internet explorers running in the background, with one or two instances pushing 80k in memory. While trying to uninstall I ran across that Microsoft devil Trusted Installer, anyone know how to bypass that so I can uninstall internet explorer?

You can't uninstall IE from any US version of Windows. There is a European sku that comes with IE NOT installed, but it is the only one.

That being said, you sir, have a virus/malware app causing problems. It is not IE per se causing the trouble. Though it is all the vulnerabilities in that POS that make it the vehicle of choice for spam ads around the globe.

Ah yes, I'm aware of the source, but I'd also like to take care of the vehicle. I think what I'm going to end up doing is blocking its access.

You really don't want to uninstall IE, despite the fact I hate the program I keep it because some programs require it. Just don't use it, set your default browser as Chrome or Firefox whichever you use, and you'll be fine. Just sit IE in a corner and ignore it, nothing bad will happen. :P Seriously though I don't recommend uninstalling it, even if it can be uninstalled which I doubt somewhat.

IE is horrible, even while not being used, it is still a huge vulnerability for computers, as Dread pointed out its the vehicle. What I ended up doing was A. Combing the files with my spy sweepers and then B. Taking the iexplorer.exe programs to not be processed by my cores.
