Airsoft

Oh the great sport of airsoft... anyone here play it? If you don't know anything about it, keep readin...

Airsoft started out in Japan when the Japanese military needed combat training, though could not shoot each other with real firearms, so airsoft was created.

Airsoft then started in China, where they produced cheap, plastic, spring powered weapons. Japan saw what they were doing, and they produced a new brand of airsoft guns, brand named Tokyo Marui, which now is the seller of the most airsoft weapons in the world.

Airsoft the spread out to Europe, and the Americas. Some brands sold around the world that I know of are Cybergun, JG, Hexagon, AGM, Dboys, WELL, and of course, Tokyo Marui.

Airsoft guns are 6mm round, plastic pellets that's weights can range from .12g, .20g, .23g, and even up to .40g.

Assault Rifles: Ranging from 50-220 ft., are the most used airsoft weapons. They are powered by springs, electric (chargable batteries), and gas.

Sub-machine Guns: Ranging from 50-200 ft, are powered by spring, gas, or electric.

Sniper Rifles: Ranging from 160-250 ft, are powered by gas, spring, or sometimes electric.

Machine Guns: Ranging from 120-200 ft., are powered by electric, or spring.

Pistols- range is 50-70 ft. Are semi, single shot, or full auto, are powered by spring, gas, co2, and electric.

Shotguns- ranging from 50- 120ft. are powered by gas or spring.

Launchers:shooting grenades (unknown range), are gas powered.

Gas- Runs on green gas, and can be used semi or full auto.

Spring- Bolt action for all guns.

Electric- Semi or full auto, the most used type of airsoft guns.

More questions, ask!
It doesn't matter how far a puller can launch or how good he is at at the game. He's still a n00b.

This is off topic for airsoft, but...

I was shot in the hand at point blank with a CO2 powered "powerline" air gun when I was 17. Saw a bloody hole in my hand but figured the BB bounced off. A week later when it still hurt I decided to have an X-ray and the BB was lodged 2/3 of the way through my hand about an inch up from where it went in.
Politeness is a discipline that compels respectful behavior. Morality is like a politeness of the soul, an etiquette of the inner life, a code of duties, a ceremonial of the essential.

See, if that had been a real gun you would have known to go to the hospital immediately.

At the Bureau Academy we had to do Paint Ball (Bullet shaped rounds) using Sig Sauer 9mm semi-auto type weapons (X-Files gun) back in 1996. During one exercise, we were in a hallway of a house, and I was third in line of the entry team. A really small classmate guy was in front, with a really large guy behind him as second. As the first guy rounded the corner, the bad guy came out from down the hall and started blasting just as the big guy grabbed the small guy by the neck of his shirt and yanked him airborne back behind the corner for cover. The small guy was quite literally airborne 5 feet off the ground with his legs spread-eagled. When he landed, he started rolling on the ground holding his crotch, moaning. There was a big bright paint splotch there, and turns out he'd gotten shot in the balls. We were all laughing so hard, the instructor had to calm us down to refocus. :gun_bandana:

In the real-deal, it wouldn't have been funny till a few days later, and focusing wouldn't have been a problem.

I've played paintball once (rental paint and weapon), and I really didn't prefer it. I didn't like aiming with the hopper ontop of the gun, and also how much maintenance and money you had to spend on the weapons. I just like airsoft more, for it's realistic play.

A sport is just a game.... just like video games. What about the war in video games? If you say it is OK in video games... you are being hypocritical
