I L0Led hard on that one and the one before it!  I wonder what divorce court for gays would be like?

Homosexuality and heterosexuality have been around the same amount of time. Tiss not a new thing. Historically marriage has been predominantly a heterosexual act. The purpose of marriage was to procreate and conceive children, preferably males. So I could see people getting their hackles up that marriage stay a heterosexual act. If marriage is to stay a heterosexual act then a institution that has identical protection should be allowed. Unfortunately the chances of that happening anytime soon is remote at best. Regardless, anyone can have any private ceremony and call it what ever they want. Kick off a few Hollywood style gay marriages would do wonders to change opinions.

Now, ain't nothing hotter than some girl on girl action! Sweet apple pie! :th_a017:

The Iranians don't seem to have this problem, I wonder why?!

Then how come so many Christians have a problem with gay marriage? I thought that's where they wanted the gays to be.

I am a Christian and I don't even understand it. Something about inferred stuff from the Bible. I ask other peeps and can't get a straight answer. Maybe it's a secret? :ninja:

Fred... I define it that way because the bible defines it that way. I believe every Christian who believes the bible holds complete truth would agree... also, marriage has a procreative meaning, and obviously there is no chance of a homosexual relationship producing offspring.

Also... being a strong Christian, I believe that homosexuality is a sin and is not 'natural' for humans... however, even though I believe it's wrong (just as murder is wrong) this kind of wrong doesn't hurt any of the rest of us in society so they have a perfect right to it. They shouldn't be shunned, disrespected or discriminated against either - there is no difference between them and me besides a lifestyle choice. If they choose to live in a way I believe is 'sinful', so be it.

So, I'm not asking any of you to agree with me. Just wanna let you know what I believe and I hope you respect it. =)

What if my religion is not defined by your Bible? Oh wait... I already know the answer to that; I would be looked down upon in the same manner that many Christians look down upon homosexuality. That is the problem with making this a "religious" issue because religion is not a constant in the discussion.

Like I said right there: I'm not asking you to agree with me, just letting you know what I believe. Many people seem to agree with me, based on the fact that when issues such as this come up for a public vote the majority seems to think as I do...

*edit: I'm not gonna look down on you. While I believe that your beliefs aren't completely correct, I can respect that and I'm not gonna shun you or anything because of that. I have plenty of friends who hold different religions from me... even one of my best friends is a Hindu... he's a great guy :P

Oh...there is no doubt that your belief is the "popular belief". I guess, when it comes right down to it, I could care less if 2 same sex people want to marry or not. I just believe it should be their decision and not someone else's.

So here's a new question then for everyone. If Gays and Lesbians are allowed to marry, should we allow polygamy? If one man and mulitple women consent to it and believe in it. Shouldn't they have the right to marry?
