I believe it requires some form of currency.

well.

You whould have to PAY! to make a dedicated server it cost if im not mistaken about 45$ a month for a 32-36 slot server.

But why whould you want to make a server?

the SWGO server are currently the best ranked and most played servers... :ugeek:

You buy a dedicated server from provider, like Art of War Central or HyperNia. Then you get your RM info and set it all up. But if you can't find someone to pay, then you can't get a server that you want.

Short answer: You need a dedicated server. It runs differently than a server you create in game. A program called "server manager" is what allows you to set announcements, banned words, map rotation, etc.

So, you would need to download the dedicated server files here: http://www.lucasfiles.com/?s=&action=file&id=1234

Then download the server manager program here: http://www.globalwf.com/gwl/downloads/swbf2sm110.zip
and put it in the dedicated server directory.

Then, if you want to remotely manager the server, like on a different computer, download the remote manager program here: http://www.globalwf.com/gwl/downloads/swbf2rm110.zip

You can run a dedicated server on your home computer, but it will likely lag unless you have a good machine and fast internet.

^^ But with that, it doesn't stay online if you turn your computer off. If you want it to stay on, you have to buy one.

Step 1) Acquire an 'Act of God' to make it even possible that the same 'awesomeness' could even happen.

Step 2) Use severe amounts of Jedi Mind Tricks to convince enough people to donate anywhere from $50-$70 per month to create your server and keep it running.

Step 3) Have an 'Early Exit Clause' in the slot rental agreement, cause unless you can 'clone' yourself, you may be the only one playing on it..and that could get quite boring and lonely really fast.

Step 4) Start a new Thread here on the Forums explaining to others of the frustration, and the total waste of time and money you experienced by trying this in the first place.

Good Luck! :gun_bandana:
