What worries me is the chain reaction that may be forced to happen. First Indonesia adjusted. Now Japan adjusted. Any takers on who is next? Jeez. Both of these major earthquakes forced the earth's axis to change. Its happened many times over Earth's history. We may be seeing a significant fault readjustment here. Stay tuned. The next ten years may be interesting.

Dear 2011,
You had better be awesome, 2010 sucked and were all dying in 2012.
Sincerly, Cheers!

I would say 80% chance of the next big one in the Americas (more specifically West Coast of North America), 15% for another in Eastern Asia and 5% for the rest.

Cheers

Yep you guys in the US have potential issues with fault lines so if there's a big one then you better not live close to the following:

New Madrid Fault
Ramapo
San Andreas

Then there are the volcanoes:

Mount Saint Helens
Mount Rainer
Lassen Park

And let's not forget the daddy of them all for the USA, the caldera at Yellowstone national Park in the USA. If/when that blows I am afraid you guys in the US are in a world of pain and then shortly afterwards it effects the rest of the world.

Europe and the rest of the world have a fair share of nasty volacanoes though.

Saying that if any Super Volcanoe blows then it would cause major issues:

Aira Caldera - Japan
Taupo Volcano - New Zealand
Lake Toba - Sumatra, Indonesia
Long Valley - USA
Valles Caldera - USA

As the Moon is the closest in over 20 years and pulling on the earth's crust then perhaps we are all in store for some bad times with earthquakes, volcanoes and such.
Look at the past to improve the future.

I heard the island of Japan shifted 8 feet! Now 8 'inches' is enormous, but 8 FEET?!..I fear for the island if that 8 foot land pressure suddendly decides to snap back the other way to equalize.

WD is right Japan shifted 8 feet (2,4Meters) but there is more.

The Earth moved 10 Cm out of it's normal course making the dayes a few miliseconds shorter....
The thing is that Cientists believe this will cause more severe Disasters soon....

As long as you/we are in the mood to worry about stuff beyond our control, I can add a few more hazards to the list...

A repeat of the solar storm of 1859 could knock out all communications, electronics, and electrical systems in general. Serious world chaos I would think...
The next reversal of the magnetic poles (which WILL happen) could cause unpredictable issues...
Undersea volcano's melting massive methane hydrate deposits, causing tsunamis and emitting ungodly amounts of methane (a greenhouse gas)
Object "2011 AG5", or another similar asteroid, turns out to actually be on a collision course with earth.
The supercollider project creates a black hole/singularity by accident... :)
Obamacare version 2.0 gets enacted :P
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics stink!
