The Allied States of Post-Apocolypsia is a fledgling, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its compassionate, hard-working population of 6 million are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

Citizens pay a flat income tax of 16%.

Anyone want to come and live in my country?

But when the largest voting group in the country is comprised of senior citizens, something needs to be done to balance it out...

"Exit polls show 66 percent of voters ages 18 to 29 preferred Obama and 32 percent preferred McMain. The gap closed among those ages 30 to 44 who preferred Obama 52 percent to McCain’s 46 percent. Among those ages 45 to 64, the vote was fairly evenly split between the candidates. Fifty three percent of voters 65 and older leaned toward McCain, compared to 45 percent who supported Obama."
…Maybe we should just let 'old' people vote. :-|

I have to say, the issues are quite amusing.

Well, here's my Nation:
The Empire of Yanoda is a tiny, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 7 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 39%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Cheese Exports industry.

Organ donation is compulsory, the government is attempting to revitalize a gutted private sector, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, and citizens select which government department gets their income tax Yanos each year. Crime is totally unknown. Yanoda's national animal is the Ewok, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Yano.

Cheers

Dude, if McCain became President...I don't even want to think about it. Both candidates sucked. I personally would not have voted in 2008 if I could have, which I suppose makes me a hypocrite...

That is true…there were better choices that didn't make it to the final 2. However…McCain sucked 'less' than Obama.

Firstly people that haven't had a regular job for a year or two don't have a clue about what life is like outside of mommy and daddy's protection. Secondly, unless you are actually paying taxes, and I don't mean just sales tax, you shouldn't have ANY say in who runs the country and decides how those of us who do pay taxes get treated. I believe it is now 48% of Americans are now takers in society meaning the don't contribute enough to cover what they are given from the rest of us, they should not be allowed to determine what I am going to have to pay in taxes by who they think should lead.

There's more to life than money...

And don't go crying now "YOU STUPID KID, I PAY TAXES, IM POOR, MY LIFE SUCKS, BEING AN ADULT SUCKS, YOU KNOW NOTHING WAHWAHWAH" because you can prevent any bad situation from happening. If you do not make ends meet because the government takes a good chunk of your money, that's your fault and perhaps you should have thought of a better career choice. You were my age once, and I'll eventually be your age...

I'm not complaining about being poor because of taxes, it's when people take money that I have earned at gunpoint (which is what taxes really are) to give to someone that they feel deserves it more than I do that I get angry. You shouldn't have a say in what's done with my money if you don't put some in yourself. It's like having a club that half the people pay dues into and the other half tells them how much they need to pay, it's ridiculous.
