The "takers" I refer to are the ones on welfare, WIC, medicare, subsidised housing, anything else subsidised. Social security is something we all add to from our pay, it isn't a for of government issued welfare. Like I said in an earlier post 48% of Americans are now a drain on the US tax system. There are waaaaayyy to many ways for people to get money out of the government for nothing, when things like WIC, medicare, other programs start accepting people at 250% of the poverty line it creates more of these "takers" who really don't need it. I don't have a problems with helping the truly needy, but they are a much smaller group than we currently assist. If I looked into it I would probably be eligible for some program with my household income being modest and having 2 children, but I don't need any help, I own 2 cars and a house. There are plenty of people who would gladly take the free money. When people pay there taxes at the end of the year and go home with more money than they paid in taxes for the year then that becomes a problem. So yes, there are a lot of "takers" out there and they shouldn't be allowed to vote themselves a raise every 4 years with the clowns they help elect.
