*sigh*
I can not fight the internet myth machine alone.

Here's your quote Aeka:
It seems to me from my experience . . . in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Texas, that while the colored Negroes have great respect for white doctors, they can get closer to their own members and more or less lay their cards on the table. . . . They do not do this with the white people, and if we can train the Negro doctor at the clinic, he can go among them with enthusiasm and with knowledge, which, I believe, will have far-reaching results. . . . His work, in my opinion, should be entirely with the Negro profession and the nurses, hospital, social workers, as well as the County's white doctors. His success will depend upon his personality and his training by us. The minister's work is also important, and also he should be trained, perhaps by the Federation, as to our ideals and the goal that we hope to reach. We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs.

So, in context, she doesn't want the word to get out, why? Because it's not what they're doing. For crying out loud....

Here's another Sanger quote for you:

What hangs over the South is that the Negro has been in servitude. The white southerner is slow to forget this. His attitude is the archaic in this age. Supremacist thinking belongs in the museum.

What I've always gotten a huge kick out of was that the Conservatives real power base comes from the more "hard-core" Christians even though Jesus Christ, or whoever wrote his scripture, was among the most liberal of all western thinkers until the 1500s.

Ok I'll bite. I dare you to prove this.

Have you never read the Bible? The sermon on the mount is by far so ahead of its time it's ridiculous. He changes the entirety (or tries to) of Jewish Scriptural Law (For example the Sabbath Law), and he also is among the first western thinkers to advocate non-violence as a means of retaliation. Even if he was beaten to this by Buddha by half a millennial he should still get some credit, right?

Wow, I've managed to stay out of this thread until now...so here it goes.

All politicians want more government. All of them. It's their job and they typically earn a great living doing it. So why regulate yourself out of a job? They're not, and this is why we have no term limits for the biggest violators (congress). The biggest difference you're going to find is that conservatives let you keep your money, yet they continue to spend whereas liberals want to take your money because you're too stupid to know what to do with it and give it back to you as they see fit, while they continue to spend.

The ONLY solution is less government and they ONLY path to less government is term limits. Public office should not be a career path. That's as simple as it gets. There's really nothing beyond it. The government is not there to regulate firearms, alcohol, abortions, provide health insurance, education, bailout industry, etc etc. The constitution is written as a document that spells out what the government CAN'T do, and we should've stuck to that.

TERM LIMITS.....get that done, and everything else is possible. Without term limits, everything else is a waste of time. (unless you just like big government)

To sum up, liberal are pullers and conservatives are chokers. Either way, they're still forcing the hell out of you.
When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. - Ben Franklin

That's my question for you. I have read the Bible and the Sermon the Mount (on which there were actually many Sermon on the Mounts but that is another discussion) was revolutionary but by no means does that make him the most liberal as you put it. He doesn't change the entirely of Of Jewish Law he tries to show the Jews how they have tainted and lost the true meaning of the law. In the four Gospels Jesus did promote peace and love etc but even Jesus who was God in the flesh according to the Bible got angry especially in the temple when he over turned money changers tables and threw them out. This is certainly a act of aggression but Biblically this is an act of redemption due to his anger that the money changers where defiling the temple. The question to address to you is why was Jesus advocating non-violence as you say?

I can't wait for the next 30 whatever years to go by and see that the oceans have not risen to catastrophic levels like Al Gore has predicted and the cities are washed into the sea. When that happens I want you to remember "I told you so". I know it will never get a liberal to admit that they were wrong just like the many other things that have been wrong, but it'll be another notch in the belt for non-hysteria.

Jesus christ, you people are so [m'kay] radical it's ridiculous. I mean honestly, you guys just keep going back and forth, back and forth "YEAH WELL YOU'RE A LIBERAL" "WELL SHUT UP YOU [m'kay] CONSERVATIVE LOLOLOL" Grow. The. [m'kay]. UP. It honestly sickens me that 9 times out of 10 people will look at either the (D) or the (R) instead of what they're actually [m'kay] saying. It baffles me that this country is even somewhat afloat right now. Even this topic title shows it. This "Us VS. Them" mentality is what's tearing this country apart from the inside out, and leaving MY generation to clean up the gigantic [m'kay] mess. Hell, half the time when a teenager says they're moderate, people will be like "WELL YOU DON'T KNOW ENOUGH TO PICK A SIDE!" Well, maybe we just haven't been brainwashed to believe that only our side can be right, and that compromise is just showing weakness. And liberals, don't think that you're in the clear on this one. That whole thought that you're trying to provide for the common man is just a happy thought that makes you think you're on the right side of morality, and gives you good leverage to call other parties wrong.

Seriously, you all aren't even talking about the actual topic anymore! Every time a topic like this is posted, it is damn near immediately derailed into general politics. Then of course, nobody agrees with eachother, everyone thinks the others are inferior, and this same [poo] happens over and over again. No topic is too minor, is it? Even the most minor [poo] will cause your generation to immediately divide into party lines and start screaming impotently at eachother. Honestly, i'm pretty sick of it. The way you advance through politics now isn't by being soft-spoken and thoughtful, it's by being a belligerent jackass. For [m'kay]'s sake, Sarah Palin was almost the VICE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Hell, the only example of this not working is Glenn Beck, who actually got fired from FOX News for it. Then again, he was going Charlie Sheen levels of [poo] crazy, so whatever.

For [m'kay]'s sake, I had to start yelling and screaming in this post, because the last time I wrote this you guys were too into banging your chests to pay any [m'kay] attention.
