My answer to question...

1. The government shouldn't allowed to intervene in people's private/public purchases, those said purchases are up to the said peoples.
2. A violation of children's rights? Eh, I'm a kid myself and I really don't have an opinion about that. But if the parents allow their kid(s) to play violent games like the GTA series, then the parents are responsible for the outcome of the kid(s) playing the game. It's not the game's fault, it's the parent's fault.

What I find strange is that depiction of violence in video games are protected under the 1st Amendment, while sexual contents in games are not according to the Supreme Court.
Can anyone enlighten me as to why is it so.

They couldn't find a direct correlation between violent games and violent children, [url]violence in other media is not censored[/url], and the industry already policies itself. Even though public sentiment is much more blasé about sex I doubt things will change. US obscenity case law goes way back. The legal precedence has been set for so long that it is unlikely to change in my lifetime.
