4th Of July Stories

Postby Heatmaster78 » Sat Jul 09, 2011 2:57 am

I know this might be just a little late to post this kind of topic, but I want to hear your guys' 4th of July stories. If you don't celebrate 4th of July, no problem, just read all of our stories :P

I guess I'll start this off:

I went down to one of Oregon's beaches for the 4th and went to their fireworks show. It was extremely loud but extremely cool. Then coming back we got stuck in more than an hours worth of traffic, making the trip a 4 hour drive back. Then right across the street that goes into my neighborhood, there was a huge swarm of bees O.O

I had just flown back and landed in NY from Eastern Europe at midnight on the 4th (Spent the 4th crossing Europe and the Atlantic). Checked into the hotel with the 2 other pilots at 1am. Met them 5 minutes later in lobby after we dropped our stuff off to our rooms. Went 3 blocks to the strip. Still a few bars open. The first bar had a bunch of what looked like under-aged high schoolers in there. Very loud and obnoxious. We each had a beer (I had a Blue Moon Draft). Went outside to drink it. Saw cops were parked outside watching the joint. We then went a few doors down to a bar that was less noisy, less messy, and more comfortable. One pilot told me to try a glass of 90-minute IPA. I did. A bit potent. Then I had another…big mistake, since my world began to spin, and we were done for the night and was tired too. We headed back to our rooms after that, where I proceeded to take one of the biggest 'power dumps' of my life. We'd been up for close to 22 hours by that point. Slept in, ate breakfast, flew home. :gunsmilie:

Though I don't celebrate it, the move The Independence Day is one of my favourites. "Welcome on Earth!"

I unloaded 300 rounds of 9mm, 200 .45, followed by 100 5.56, and finished up the morning with a round of trap.
Pulled the kids around on a tube while the tide was up, then cooked a ridiculously huge London Broil on the grill.
Out for ice cream, back at dusk, blew off a sweet, loud, bright, 45 min of contraband fireworks from NH which drew out half my neighborhood.
It may have been my most stereotypical American 4th ever, but a hell of a good day.

Had a huge cookout with almost all my neighborhood at the pool, then went to the top of a parking garage to watch some pretty big fireworks. And one of my friends found a Blackberry

You mean a blackberry as in the fruit or the hand-held device

My neighbors came over to my pool for our great watermelon race! We would get together relay teams. Usually a 2v2 of 5 people. So the one side both had watermelons and we would toss them into the pool at the start and push them all the way to the other side. We would go back and forth doing that. Watermelons are actually not that hard to push into the water. Just the throwing part is a bit difficult. Especially for the little kids lol. Then we had a nice relaxing game of waffle ball baseball on the street. My team won the baseball game and the watermelon race!

Floated down a river on inner tubes for about 6 hours getting smashed on high life and captain, had a little sexy time, went and watched my city's fireworks, then held my gf's hair while she got rid of some stuff... solid day.

Offer the enemy bait to lure him; feign disorder and strike him.
Know the enemy and know yourself; and in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.
