You can watch the entire episode if you want to, but pay close attention to 8:24-9:56.

Do I pay taxes?
NO.

Do I know (or even care) what this entails?
NO.
But if these guys are making MILLIONS of dollars every year, they should pay up because not everyone makes that kind of money.

You guys say that the liberal media is bias, we say that the conservative media is bias. This is right because they both are bias news sources. No one on any side says any good things about the other side, its all hate and negative comments.

I could say that your brain will get softer each time you listen to Hannity or O'Rielly (or whoever the hell is on at the time). I could say that you're gonna get "fat, lazy, and stupid" which is what FOX wants you to be. You could say that I've been listening to nothing but lies. I could say the same thing. You see, we can go back and forth forever and this will never end. Argument after argument, it never stops. People keep going, people keep talking, do you get my point yet?
Now before you criticize me on my Daily Show video, Jon goes after both the liberals and the conservatives. He even agrees with conservatives sometimes. He has conservatives on his shows every once in a while. Before you say that Jon Stewart is bias as well, he attacks both sides for doing stupid things. There was an episode when the Anthony Weiner scandal was still alive and in the news. He took Anthony and tore him apart with crude remarks.

Now I really don't care what you say after this, because this will just keep going. I really don't care if you respond, but if you do I'll respond with my own opinion.

Kindest regards,
Heat

I like you. You don't suck.

I don't know wether to take this as a compliment or as sarcasm, but I'll take it as a compliment.
Thank you.

Come back when you do get a job and have bills to pay and a family to feed. Also, when you get that job, make sure it's a poor person who hires you. I don't think you should work for a rich person.

No, you will come back when your mommy tells you to come back.

As for MSNBC/Fox: It's like watching a live Howard Stern show. At least with Howard you know he is full of [poo], these morons spew slanted truth and lies like it's news and fact. I don't know whats worse, the morons spewing the junk or the morons watching it thinking its the gospel truth.

Just read the last couple pages of this thread *sigh*

I'll make it quick. When Bush left office we had:
1.8 trillion per year deficit
700,000 jobs lost per month
-6.8% GDP growth

The current deficit is primarily (like 80-90%) because of:
Bush tax cuts - trillions for mainly very rich
Iraq war - trillions for unprovoked war
Medicare part D - completely unpaid for

Bush's administration (Cheney in particular) said "Deficits don't matter"
That should be changed to "Deficits don't matter if a Republican is in the white house, otherwise it's priority #1"

Now Obama is the most conservative president of my lifetime, by far. He has done nothing for the poor, sick, elderly, children and other vulnerable groups. There have been no massive employment programs like public works, government has shrunk by hundreds of thousands of employees, tax rates are the lowest they've been in nearly a century, he has helped the big corporations, banks, Wall St, etc. How anyone could see Obama as anything other than right wing is beyond me.

Most jobs are created by small business and entrepreneur's, most of whom are not rich but are able to attain small business loans and grants to get things going.
Most "rich" - like multi-million or billionaires are not small business owners but fund managers, traders, currency speculators, CEOs and boards of multinational corporations. Those are the people who have seen their share of national income skyrocket while their tax burden has gone down significantly, leading to massive wealth concentration, shrinking middle class, and government debt due to lack of revenue.

As someone who works for a small business, I can tell you the #1 factor affecting me is demand. I think it's pretty much the same across the board. Austerity measures will further hurt demand, leading us back to recession.

Matt, even if we taxed the rich at 100% of capacity it would never be enough to cover the deficit. Historically, raising taxes has never helped our economy..... I was almost going to open a can of whoop ass on you and then saw your comment about Obama being a Conservative and laughed my butt off. I'll shut up now, cuz it's true. Matt, you cease to amaze me!!

I work for myself, and I am a poor bastard. Does that count?

As for Obama he seems more in the center than left/right/conservative/central/err whatever. He pushed through the health care bill so there's your help for the poor, sick, elderly, children and SWGO members. Unless you don't fit in those categories. Then get ready butter cup, the health ins companies are ready to shove it up your tailpipe in costs. He pushed through the stimulus package which was supposed to be used for public works. It ended up getting pissed away for dumb crap by the local municipalities. The bailout or more specifically TARP was a Bush law, not Obama. Regardless the majority of the bridge loans have been paid back with fees so I would chalk that up as a win.
